We’ll have more on the Gold Cup below but there are three handicaps among the Royal Ascot tips for Thursday, the middle day of the meeting. The Britannia Stakes is the best known with three-year-olds up to a certain official rating competing on the straight mile. Again, look carefully through yesterday’s racing results and from the first day of the royal meeting and see if you can identify a draw bias in your search for the winner.
There is also another three-year-olds only handicap in the King George V Stakes, but this is on the round course over almost a mile-and-a-half. That distance is also used in yet another age restricted race, the Ribblesdale Stakes for fillies. Because only three-year-olds take part in that as well, it is often seen as Royal Ascot’s equivalent of The Oaks at Epsom. Some fillies even run in both races despite the short turnaround time.
Royal Ascot Thursday tips to consider also include the Hampton Court Stakes. Three-year-olds can’t run in the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes over the same distance on the previous day, so this acts a stepping stone en route to a clash with their elders in the Eclipse at Sandown in July.

There are two Group 1 races for all Royal Ascot tips on Friday to consider first. The Commonwealth Cup is a dedicated sprint for three-year-old colts and fillies.
