The Importance of Royal Ascot Results Today

As Britain’s best Flat horse racing meeting, Royal Ascot results 2024 play their part in creating a memorable gala that celebrates the best of sporting competition. There is an international flavour to this racing in front of the Royal Family which captivates and attracts overseas runners like no other event.

Some of the deepest races run on turf on the level in the entire year happen at this meeting. Results at Royal Ascot today also shape where horses might go in the future. It’s not as though the races themselves are stepping stones, but stern examinations of a thoroughbred’s credentials so that connections can have the confidence to target other events down the line.

The Royal Ascot results in 2021 proved no less dramatic and absorbing than any other year. You can expect that at each and every edition of this magnificent festival of equine excellence. With seven races per day for five consecutive days, the Royal Ascot betting comes thick and fast following the royal procession down the home straight.

Results from Royal Ascot today can tell you whether the favourite ran up to market expectation. With such competitive races taking place, it’s often the case that the market leader simply can’t live up to its billing. There’s no shame in that, though, with all the Royal Ascot results 2024 listed below.

We keep these regularly updated throughout the meeting, so you know once horse racing results become official what has won. That is just part of the service you can expect from SportsLens relating to Royal Ascot racing results today. Check out the winners day by day and race by race right here:

Royal Ascot Results Tuesday

Royal Ascot results on Tuesday include the Queen Anne Stakes

The opening day sees Royal Ascot horse racing results announce themselves with a bang. Tuesday’s card contains three Group 1 races, so it’s the very best level of competition right from the word go. The Royal Ascot race results today you’ll encounter covers everything from sprint contests to long-distance handicaps. Let’s look at each race in turn:

Queen Anne Stakes Results

  • Class of Race: Group 1
  • Race Distance: 1 mile (straight)
  • Age of Horses: 4yo+

First run in 1840 and renamed after Ascot’s founder Queen Anne in 1930, the traditional curtain-raiser to the royal meeting puts older milers centre stage. The first of 2:30 Royal Ascot results with that start time observed each day has been put on the map by some famous horses.

The roll of honour for the Queen Anne Stakes includes Cape Cross, Kalanisi, Medicean, Canford Cliffs, Frankel, and in recent years Palace Pier and Baaeed. Pay close attention to Royal Ascot race 1 results on the Tuesday as winners often go on to the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood races during the Glorious meeting.

Position Silks Horse (Stall) Jockey Trainer Distance SP
1st Charyn silks Charyn (9) Silvestre De Sousa Roger Varian 2¼ lengths 100/30F
2nd Docklands silks Docklands (6) Hayley Turner Harry Eustace 2¾ lengths 10/1
3rd Ahmed Al Maktoum silks Maljoom (13) Tom Marquand William Haggas 1 length 15/2

The improving Charyn completed his climb to the top of the mile division by landing the Queen Anne in style for Silvestre De Sousa and Roger Varian. Shock Lockinge hero Audience set the pace on the stands side, while French pair Big Rock and Facteur Cheval raced apart from the field. That prove disastrous for their chances. Charyn was well on top from course specialist Docklands, who ran a blinder in defeat, with the slowly away Maljoom an eye-catching third.

Coventry Stakes Result

  • Class of Race: Group 2
  • Race Distance: 6 furlongs (straight)
  • Age of Horses: 2yo only

The first juvenile race among Tuesday Royal Ascot results is the Coventry Stakes. Dating back to 1890, Dante and Mill Reef are some of the most historic winners of this contest. Past Royal Ascot day 1 results here also show the likes of Henrythenavigator, Dawn Approach and Caravaggio among more recent victors of the Coventry.

Position Horse (Stall) Jockey Trainer Distance SP
1st Rashabar (10) Billy Loughnane Brian Meehan nose 80/1
2nd Electrolyte (18) Hollie Doyle Archie Watson head 40/1
3rd Columnist (15) Oisin Orr Richard Fahey ½ a length 50/1
4th Cool Hoof Luke (23) Silvestre De Sousa Andrew Balding neck 40/1

A photo finish with horses split the width of the track saw teenage jockey Billy Loughnane prevail aboard 80/1 outsider Rashabar from Wathnan Racing owned pair Electrolyte and Columnist in the Coventry. They were huge prices as well at 40/1 and 50/1 respectively. Also in the frame was another 40/1 longshot in Cool Hoof Luke ahead of more-fancied Godolphin duo Al Qudra and Symbol of Honour.

King Charles III Stakes Results

  • Class of Race: Group 1
  • Race Distance: 5 furlongs (straight)
  • Age of Horses: 3yo+

To be considered a great sprinter, a thoroughbred racehorse running on turf in Europe must win the King Charles III Stakes. Results from Royal Ascot today and in the past prove it. There have been 12 dual winners of the race formerly known as King’s Stand over the flying five furlongs in the race’s history. Blue Point is the most recent of those with the event beginning back in 1860.

Of all Royal Ascot results on the Tuesday on the meeting, this is often has the most dramatic outcome. Dayjur, Pivotal, Equiano, Sole Power and Battaash are just some of the modern speedsters who have tasted glory in the King’s Stand Stakes. Later on in the season, winners of go one to the Nuthorpe Stakes at York races during the Ebor Festival.

Position Silks Horse (Stall) Jockey Trainer Distance SP
1st Blank silks Asfoora (17) Oisin Murphy Henry Dwyer (AUS) a length 5/1
2nd Regional silks Regional (15) Callum Rodriguez Ed Bethell ½ a length 6/1
3rd Big Evs silks Big Evs (6) Tom Marquand Mick Appleby short-head 11/4F
4th Highclere Thoroughbred silks Believing (1) Danny Tudhope George Boughey 1¾ lengths 9/1

Australian sprinter Asfoora became the sixth horse from Down Under to land the King Charles II Stakes. He burst through and bested 2023 Haydock Sprint Cup hero Regional down in trip. Three-year-old Big Evs couldn’t justify favouritism in third with Achillies Stakes scorer Believing behind him after a quick turnaround.

St James’s Palace Stakes Result

  • Class of Race: Group 1
  • Race Distance: 1 mile (round)
  • Age of Horses: 3yo colts only

Royal Ascot race 4 results from day 1 of the meeting tell us about one of the most exclusive events in terms of entrant. Only three-year-old colts can contest the St James’s Palace Stakes on the round mile course. It is Ascot’s equivalent of the 2000 Guineas, one of only two Newmarket races today with Classic status.

First run in 1834 when it was a walkover, the St James’s Palace roll of honour includes Brigadier Gerard, Giant’s Causeway, Rock Of Gibraltar, Shamardal, Mastercraftsman, Frankel, Kingman and Paddington among its many illustrious winners. Sit up and take notice as Royal Ascot Tuesday results show those successful in this contest clearly go on to great things both on and off the track.

Position Silks Horse (Stall) Jockey Trainer Distance SP
1st Sheikh Mohammed Obaid silks Rosallion (1) Sean Levey Richard Hannon neck 5/2
2nd Michael Tabor silks Henry Longfellow (7) Ryan Moore Aidan O’Brien (IRE) 3 lengths 11/2
3rd Metropolitan silks Metropolitan (2) Alexis Pouchin Mario Baratti (FR) 1¼ lengths 20/1
4th Al Shaqab Racing silks Unquestionable (3) Wayne Lordan Aidan O’Brien (IRE) neck 28/1

Irish 2000 Guineas hero Rosallion reeled in Henry Longfellow, who reversed French Guineas form and had the race run to suit, as Richard Hannon saddled a second St James’s Palace winner after Barney Roy. This was a superb race and perhaps the clash of the entire meeting with another Classic scorer in Newmarket 2000 Guineas winner Notable Speech flopping. Unquestionable was fourth for Aidan O’Brien after making the early running.

Ascot Stakes Results

  • Class of Race: Heritage Handicap
  • Race Distance: 2 miles and 4 furlongs (round)
  • Age of Horses: 4yo+ rated 0-100 on the Flat

Don’t be surprised if National Hunt racehorses take part in the Ascot Stakes. A long-distance handicap over the Gold Cup distance of two-and-a-half miles, it is one of the most unusual Tuesday Royal Ascot results to look out for. Jumps trainers like Martin Pipe and Willie Mullins saddled plenty of winners of this where stamina is essential.

Position Horse (Stall) Jockey Trainer Distance SP
1st Pledgeofallegiance (1) Luke Morris Sir Mark Prescott ½ a length 20/1
2nd Divine Comedy (5) Kaiya Fraser [5] Harry Eustace 2½ lengths 8/1
3rd Kyle Of Lochlash (11) Billy Loughnane Hughie Morrison ½ a length 12/1
4th Get Shirty (15) Danny Tudhope David O’Meara 4½ lengths 33/1
5th Temporize (12) Tom Marquand Syd Hosie 2½ lengths 18/1

Sir Mark Prescott saddled his first Royal Ascot winner for 28 years with Pledgeofallegiance defying a lowly mark of 88 and stall number one under Luke Morris. He held off Divine Comedy with the front two pulling clear of Kyle Of Lochlash and Get Shirty with the Irish horses nowhere.

Wolferton Stakes Result

  • Class of Race: Listed
  • Race Distance: 1 mile and 2 furlongs (round)
  • Age of Horses: 4yo+

Next up among Royal Ascot day 1 results is the Wolferton Stakes. This was a handicap up until 2018, but now represents an easier alternative to the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes for older horses. Royal Ascot results from 2021 here threw up some subsequent winners, so make sure you follow the form closely. The Wolferton is as competitive as Listed races get.

Position Horse (Stall) Jockey Trainer Distance SP
1st Israr (8) Jim Crowley John & Thady Gosden 3¼ lengths 11/4JF
2nd Haunted Dream (4) Christophe Soumillon H Al Jehani (UAE) short-head 14/1
3rd Torito (2) James Doyle John & Thady Gosden 3¼ lengths 7/2
4th Savvy Victory (7) Danny Tudhope S Woods ½ a length 40/1

John Gosden saddled a 65th Royal Ascot winner as Israr landed the toughest Listed race of the entire season with an authoritative Wolferton victory. He shot clear of two Wathnan Racing horses, Haunted Dream and stable companion Torito. Savvy Victory outran his odds at 40/1 in fourth. Israr’s fellow joint-favourite Botanical finished last.

Copper Horse Handicap Results

  • Class of Race: Class 2 Handicap
  • Race Distance: 1 mile and 6 furlongs (round)
  • Age of Horses: 4yo+ rated 0-105 on the Flat

The last of Royal Ascot Tuesday results is the Copper Horse Handicap, a very recent addition to the programme. This race acts as an unofficial trial for the Ebor Handicap at York, Europe’s richest turf race of that kind. Don’t go looking too far back with the Copper Horse as this long-distance handicap isn’t among yesterday’s Royal Ascot results prior to the past couple of years. Vauban helped put this race on the map.

Position Horse (Stall) Jockey Trainer Distance SP
1st Belloccio (14) William Buick Willie Mullins (IRE) 1¼ lengths 4/1
2nd Lmay (16) Kieran Shoemark John & Thady Gosden short-head 40/1
3rd My Mate Mozzie (12) Gary Carroll Gavin Cromwell (IRE) 1¼ lengths 12/1
4th Alsakib (13) Oisin Murphy Andrew Balding ½ a length 11/2

After a 1-2 in the race 12 months earlier, Willie Mullins did it again with Belloccio cashing on a reduced Flat mark in the Copper Horse Handicap. After not getting the best start, he stayed on powerfully down the centre of the track and overhauled 40/1 outsider Lmay, who just held second from another Irish raider in My Mate Mozzie. Alsakib completed the first four home.

Royal Ascot Results Wednesday

Royal Ascot results for Wednesday include the Prince of Wales's Stakes

Things show no sign of slowing down on the second day of the royal meeting. With more juvenile contests, an early St Leger trial and the big middle-distance race of the week on the card, Royal Ascot Wednesday results carry plenty of significance moving forward. Both the straight and round mile courses are in use for wide-open handicaps with big fields too. Here are all the results at Royal Ascot today for Wednesday below:

Queen Mary Stakes Result

  • Class of Race: Group 2
  • Race Distance: 5 furlongs (straight)
  • Age of Horses: 2yo fillies only

Past 14:30 Royal Ascot results from the Queen Mary Stakes for juvenile fillies on day two of the meeting show Sun Chariot as the most famous winner. Owned by King George VI, she landed the Triple Crown the following year. Young transatlantic raiders Lady Aurelia and Campanelle have give the Queen Mary a real international flavour by winning the race in recent years.

Position Horse (Stall) Jockey Trainer Distance SP
1st Leovanni (10) James Doyle Karl Burke 1¾ lengths 22/1
2nd Mighty Eriu (24) Gary Carroll Gavin Cromwell (IRE) neck 50/1
3rd Maw Lam (4) Hollie Doyle Adrian Nicholls neck 50/1
4th Miss Lamai (13) Clifford Lee Karl Burke 1½ lengths 22/1

A decisive win for Leovanni in the Queen Mary got big spending owners Wathnan Racing on the board at Royal Ascot. She burst clear up the middle of the track under James Doyle for Karl Burke, who previously saddled Dramatised to victory two years ago. Leovanni was too good for Qatar Racing’s 50/1 outsider Mighty Eriu. Another longshot Maw Lam was third and Miss Lamai completed the the first four with Kuwaitya withdrawn at the start.

Queen’s Vase Results

  • Class of Race: Group 2
  • Race Distance: 1 mile and 6 furlongs (round)
  • Age of Horses: 3yo only

Here’s what most Royal Ascot results from day 2 don’t tell you. The Queen’s Vase is an early summer trial for the St Leger in the autumn. Although only open to three-year-olds, it can also be a source of future Gold Cup winners. Dating back to 1838, Le Moss, Mahler, Estimate and Stradivarius are some of the staying greats to have taken this and gone to great things. Pay attention to racing results from Royal Ascot like the Queen’s Vase with the future in mind.

Position Horse (Stall) Jockey Trainer Distance SP
1st Illinois (5) Ryan Moore Aidan O’Brien (IRE) 1¾ lengths 7/4F
2nd Highbury (2) Wayne Lordan Aidan O’Brien (IRE) ¾ of a length 3/1
3rd Birdman (7) Shane Foley Jessica Harrington 4¼ lengths 13/2
4th Meydaan (8) William Buick Simon & Ed Crisford neck 5/1

Ryan Moore chose correctly with Illinois leading home a 1-2 for the Aidan O’Brien ahead of Highbury. This was a joint-record eighth win in the Queen’s Vase for the Ballydoyle maestro. The luckless in-running Birdman came third for another Irish-based trainer Jessica Harrington. Meydaan, too keen and perhaps wanting less firm ground, was fourth.

Duke Of Cambridge Stakes Result

  • Class of Race: Group 2
  • Race Distance: 1 mile (straight)
  • Age of Horses: 4yo+ fillies and mares

One of the chief supporting races on Wednesday, Royal Ascot day 2 results also include the Duke Of Cambridge Stakes for older fillies and mares. Since it was introduced to the meeting in 2004, both Sir Michael Stoute and John Gosden have done well in this straight mile contest. Looking back through horse racing results from Royal Ascot in that time, no filly or mare to date has won this more than once.

Position Horse (Stall) Jockey Trainer Distance SP
1st Running Lion (11) Oisin Murphy John & Thady Gosden 2 lengths 6/1
2nd Laurel (1) Ryan Moore John & Thady Gosden 2 lengths 4/1
3rd Doom (6) Tom Marquand William Haggas short-head 12/1

A miraculous feat of training by the Gosdens saw them bringing Running Lion back to form in a big way as she held off long absent stable companion Laurel for a 1-2 in the Duke Of Cambridge. The front two were clear of Doom for William Haggas with Magical Sunset fourth ahead of last year’s winner Rogue Millennium.

Prince Of Wales’s Stakes Result

  • Class of Race: Group 1
  • Race Distance: 1 mile and 2 furlongs (round)
  • Age of Horses: 4yo+

The feature race among Royal Ascot results on Wednesday is the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes. As the only Group 1 on the card, it commemorates the title given to the heir to the throne. First established in 1862 and again in 1968, Hyperion, Brigadier Gerard, Bob Back, Muhtarram, Fantastic Light and Highland Reel are among famous winners.

Open to older horses over a mile-and-a-quarter, those victories go on to either the Eclipse at Sandown Park or the King George back here over further later in the summer. Poet’s Word, Crystal Ocean and Lord North are recent winners of the Prince Of Wales. Any Irish horses coming over may try to follow-up on Tattersalls Gold Cup success at The Curragh here.

Position Silks Horse (Stall) Jockey Trainer Distance SP
1st Michael Tabor silks Auguste Rodin (3) Ryan Moore Aidan O’Brien (IRE) ¾ of a length 13/8F
2nd Zarakem silks Zarakem (8) Maxime Guyon Jerome Reynier (FR) 1 length 33/1
3rd Horizon Dore silks Horizon Dore (7) Mickael Barzalona Patrice Cottier (FR) 2 lengths 7/1

Billed as a battle between last season’s champion three-year-old middle distance colt Auguste Rodin and older mare Inspiral, the Prince Of Wales went to the former. Off a fast pace made by outsiders, he held off closing French duo Zarakem and Horizon Dore, third again after filling the same spot in the Champion Stakes here. Auguste Rodin showed real bravery under an inspired Ryan Moore for Aidan O’Brien. Inspiral, meanwhile, blew her chance at the start and finished sixth with Alflaila best of the British in fourth.

Royal Hunt Cup Results

  • Class of Race: Heritage Handicap
  • Race Distance: 1 mile (straight)
  • Age of Horses: 3yo+

The race with the biggest field among Royal Ascot Wednesday results is invariably the Royal Hunt Cup. A Heritage Handicap over the straight mile, there is a perpetual trophy awarded to the winning horse’s owners. First run in 1843, finding the winner is a tough challenge for anyone giving horse racing tips on the royal meeting. This is because Royal Ascot race 5 results – the traditional slot for the Royal Hunt Cup – have so many with claims competing.

Position Horse (Stall) Jockey Trainer Distance SP
1st Wild Tiger (20) Oisin Murphy Saeed bin Suroor head 11/2JF
2nd Sonny Liston (19) Rossa Ryan Ralph Beckett ¾ of a length 17/2
3rd Perotto (17) Tom Marquand Roger Varian ½ a length 25/1
4th Daysofourlives (20) Luke Morris Marco Botti ¾ of a length 20/1
5th Holloway Boy (23) Sam James Karl Burke head 22/1
6th Coeur D’Or (22) Chris Hayes Dermot Weld (IRE) ¾ of a length 12/1

Joint-favourite Wild Tiger came from two-thirds down the draw and just prevailed as Oisin Murphy rode a double after his earlier success on Running Lion. Saeed bin Suroor and Godolphin got in on the Royal Ascot act with their horse prevailing by a head from Sonny Liston, who again had to settle for second in the Royal Hunt Cup. Course regular Perotto, Daysofourlives, Holloway Boy and Irish raider Coeur D’Or filled the other spots in the top six.

Kensington Palace Fillies’ Handicap Result

  • Class of Race: Class 2 Handicap
  • Race Distance: 1 mile (round)
  • Age of Horses: 4yo+ fillies and mares rated 0-105 on the Flat

Royal Ascot race 2 results from Wednesday are features an event for older fillies and mares. The Kensington Palace Stakes is a handicap for those females perhaps not quite good enough to contest the Duke Of Cambridge earlier on the card. This is a very recent addition to the royal meeting race programme.

Position Horse (Stall) Jockey Trainer Distance SP
1st Doha (21) Hector Crouch Ralph Beckett head 10/1
2nd Hopeful (20) Mickael Barzalona Andrew Balding 4¼ lengths 13/2F
3rd Victoria Falls (5) Connor Planas [3] Hugo Palmer head 20/1

5th Aurora Dawn (6) Saffie Osborne Ed Walker neck 12/1

Ralph Beckett and Al Shaqab’s filly, a daughter of Arc heroine Treve, just got up in the Kensington Palace from the favourite. The front two pulled nicely clear of Victoria Falls in third with Rowayeh and Aurora Dawn rounding off the top five.

A Listed juvenile sprint in the Windsor Castle Stakes is the Royal Ascot race 7 results on day 2 of the meeting. Norfolk Stakes Result

  • Class of Race: Group 2
  • Race Distance: 5 furlongs (straight)
  • Age of Horses: 2yo only

Dating back to 1843, the Norfolk Stakes had a famous dead heat in 1947. This juvenile sprint contest was won by Dutch Art and No Nay Never in more recent years with both going on to have successful careers at stud. That highlights the impact that 14.30 Royal Ascot results from Gold Cup day can have on the sport.

He was a length too good for Tropical Storm, who just held second from Arizona Blaze. The well-backed odds-on favourite Whistlejacket, encountering fast ground for the first time, was only fourth.

King George V Stakes Result

  • Class of Race: Heritage Handicap
  • Race Distance: 1 mile and 4 furlongs (round)
  • Age of Horses: 3yo only rated 0-105 on the Flat

3rd Go Daddy (8) Lewis Edmunds William Muir & Chris Grassick 1¼ lengths 25/1
4th Fouroneohfever (13) Billy Loughnane George Boughey ¾ of a length 10/1

Ribblesdale Stakes Results

  • Class of Race: Group 2
  • Race Distance: 1 mile and 4 furlongs (round)
  • Age of Horses: 3yo fillies only

The Royal Ascot results on Thursday also contain a race that is essentially the equivalent of the Epsom Oaks in the Ribblesdale Stakes. For more than a century now, three-year-old fillies have been tackling a mile-and-a-half of the Berkshire track. John Gosden’s grey Coronet is one of the most famous recent winners of the Ribblesdale after enjoying success as a mare in France later on in her career.

Position Horse (Stall) Jockey Trainer Distance SP
1st Port Fairy (10) Ryan Moore Aidan O’Brien (IRE) neck 12/1
2nd Lava Stream (6) Danny Tudhope David O’Meara 1¾ lengths 20/1
3rd Kalpana (1) Oisin Murphy Andrew Balding ½ a length 9/4F

Ryan Moore and Aidan O’Brien won the Ribblesdale yet again following-up on Warm Heart’s victory 12 months ago with Port Fairy. She prevailed by a neck, battling back when headed by the outsider Lava Stream. The well-backed favourite Kalpana was third with frontrunner You Got To Me next. Diamond Rain, friendless in the market, trailed in last and failed to fire.

Ascot Gold Cup Result

  • Class of Race: Group 1
  • Race Distance: 2 mile and 4 furlongs (round)
  • Age of Horses: 4yo+

Let’s face it, Thursday Royal Ascot results don’t come any bigger than the Gold Cup itself. Established in 1807, the very best Flat thoroughbred stayers in Europe compete for this Group 1 feature contest. From St. Simon to Solario, Sagaro, Le Moss and Andross, the heritage is very deep here. Experts always focus Royal Ascot tips on this centrepiece race.

Double Trigger and Kayf Tara are more modern popular winners of the Gold Cup, but its recent history has been dominated by two more staying greats in Yeats and Stradivarius. Royal Ascot day 3 results will show a superstar stayer coming away with this prestigious and valuable prize, that’s for sure.

Position Horse (Stall) Silks Jockey Trainer Distance SP
1st Kyprios (8) Moyglare Stud Farm silks Ryan Moore Aidan O’Brien (IRE) 1 length 11/10F

3rd Sweet William (9) Sweet William silks Rab Havlin John & Thady Gosden 3 lengths 9/1
4th Vauban (5) Ricci silks Colin Keane Willie Mullins (IRE) 2¼ lengths 13/2

Regaining the Gold Cup after a serious career-threatening injury with Kyprios was just the latest remarkable feat of training from Aidan O’Brien. In another ding-dong battle with Godolphin’s Trawlerman, there was a different result to Champions Day.

Ryan Moore, who went past Frankie Dettori with an 82nd Royal Ascot winner, got Kyprios a length on top at the line as John & Thady Gosden saddled the second and third with Sweet William. Last year’s impressive Copper Horse Handicap winner Vauban was next, ahead of Coltrane.

Britannia Stakes Results

  • Class of Race: Heritage Handicap
  • Race Distance: 1 mile (straight)
  • Age of Horses: 3yo colts and geldings only rated 0-105 on the Flat

Like the Royal Hunt Cup on the Wednesday, to Royal Ascot Thursday results when it comes to the Britannia Stakes. A Heritage Handicap but restricted to three-year-old colts and geldings, this race dates back almost 100 years to 1928. The Royal Ascot 5pm results here are also hotly competitive.

4th Mission To Moon (33) Oisin Murphy Roger Varian ½ a length 25/1
5th King’s Gamble (23) Danny Tudhope Ralph Beckett head 8/1

Mickley changed hands before Royal Ascot and immediately rewarded his new owners with victory in the Britannia. Well-backed into 15/2, he held off Skukuza under Callum Rodriguez for the Ed Bethell stable. The front two pulled a little clear of Native Warrior for big spenders Wathnan in third with Mission To Moon and King’s Gamble home in front of favourite Qirat.

Hampton Court Stakes Results

  • Class of Race: Group 3
  • Race Distance: 1 mile and 2 furlongs (round)
  • Age of Horses: 3yo only

Three-year-olds are next up in Royal Ascot day 3 results with the Hampton Court Stakes over a mile-and-a-quarter. Group 1 and 2 winners can’t contest the race, so it gives others on an upward curve the chance to shine. Godolphin’s globetrotting duo Hawkbill and Benbatl are both famous winners listed in past Royal Ascot race 6 results from the Gold Cup card.

Position Horse (Stall) Jockey Trainer Distance SP
1st Jayarebe (12) Sean Levey Brian Meehan ¾ a of length 7/1
2nd King’s Gambit (7) William Buick Harry Charlton 1¾ lengths 2/1F
3rd Bellum Justum (2) Oisin Murphy Andrew Balding 1½ lengths 10/1

When favourite King’s Gambit blew the start and gave himself too much to do, Jayarebe capitalised under Sean Levey as both the jockey and trainer Brian Meehan had their second winners of the meeting. William Buick did his best to get the market leader into contention and he flew home in second. Completing the top three was Bellim Justum for the Andrew Balding stable.

Buckingham Palace Stakes Results

  • Class of Race: Class 2 Handicap
  • Race Distance: 7 furlongs (straight)
  • Age of Horses: 3yo+ rated 0-105 on the Flat

Rounding off day 3 Royal Ascot racing results today is the Buckingham Palace Stakes, a seven-furlong handicap that returned to the programme in 2020. First established in 2022, it was cut after 2014 in a much-maligned move. The exploits of recent winner Highfield Princess have helped raised the profile of this event and justify its reintroduction at the royal meeting.

Position Horse (Stall) Jockey Trainer Distance SP
1st English Oak (26) James Doyle Ed Walker 3 lengths 100/30F
2nd Billyjoh (19) Hollie Doyle Mick Appleby 1 length 28/1

4th Mostabshir (21) Jim Crowley John & Thady Gosden ¾ a of length 16/1
5th Northern Express (18) Paul Mulrennan Michael Dods neck 12/1

It definitely paid to be on the stands side in the Buckingham Palace Stakes as the favourite English Oak put three lengths between himself and the rest of the field for Wathnan Racing, James Doyle and Ed Walker. Billyjoh was runner-up with Carrytheone and Mostabshir home in front of last year’s third Northern Express in fifth this time. Bopedro got upset in the stalls and was withdrawn at the start.

Royal Ascot Results Friday

Royal Ascot results from Friday feature the Commonwealth Cup

One thing observant readers will notice that Royal Ascot day 4 results largely concern three-year-olds. The penultimate card from the meeting does have a juvenile race and an open handicap too, but it’s mainly about horses in their Classic year. These are today’s Royal Ascot results from the Friday fixture in full:

Albany Stakes Result

  • Class of Race: Group 3
  • Race Distance: 6 furlongs (straight)
  • Age of Horses: 2yo fillies only

First run in 2002, the Albany Stakes is a juvenile fillies race listed under Royal Ascot 2:30 results on the penultimate day. Samitar, Cursory Glance and Brave Anna are all subsequent Group 1 victors to have won this contest. The Albany often attracts a big field with many connections hopeful their fillies can deliver.

Position Horse (Stall) Jockey Trainer Distance SP
1st Fairy Godmother (6)  Ryan Moore Aidan O’Brien (IRE) ¾ of a length 15/8f
2nd Simmering (11) Jamie Spencer Ollie Sangster neck 9/1
3rd Heavens Gate (17) Wayne Lordan Aidan O’Brien (IRE) 2¾ lengths 8/1
4th Mountain Breeze (12) William Buick Charlie Appleby neck 9/4

An incredible Ryan Moore ride extricated favourite Fairy Godmother from an impossible position in the Albany. Confronted by a wall of horses, he switched his mount from far to nearside. Fairy Godmother then showed a superb turn of foot and ran down stable companion Heavens Gate with Simmering snatching second. Well-backed Godolphin runner Mountain Breeze got up for fourth ahead of California Dreamer. Liberalised was withdrawn after getting upset in the stalls.

Commonwealth Cup Result

  • Class of Race: Group 1
  • Race Distance: 6 furlongs (straight)
  • Age of Horses: 3yo colts and fillies only

The newest Group 1 of the meeting, you will find the Commonwealth Cup among Royal Ascot results on Friday. Initially open to all three-year-olds when inaugurated in 2015, it became closed to geldings. This six-furlong sprint is a big race to take in en route to the July Cup at Newmarket.

If Commonwealth Cup winners remain in training, then they can come back to the royal meeting and run in the Platinum / Diamond Jubilee Stakes the following year. It is worth following Royal Ascot horse racing results like this for events later on in the season such as the Sprint Cup at Haydock Park races or the Champions Sprint Stakes over this same course and distance and open to older horses in the autumn.

Position Silks Horse (Stall) Jockey Trainer Distance SP
1st Sheikh Mohammed Obaid silks Inisherin (1) Tom Eaves Kevin Ryan 2¼ lengths 9/4F
2nd Tony Bloom silks Lake Forest (8) Tom Marquand William Haggas head 12/1
3rd Jasour silks Jasour (5) Jim Crowley Clive Cox 1½ lengths 4/1

Dropping Inisherin back into sprints proved an inspired move after connections successfully supplemented him for the Commonwealth Cup. It cost Sheikh Mohammed Obaid £46,000 to put Kevin Ryan’s charge into the race and he shot powerfully clear of Lake Forest, who just got up for second on trial winner Jasour. The well-backed Givemethebeatboys didn’t fire.

Coronation Stakes Results

  • Class of Race: Group 1
  • Race Distance: 1 mile (round)
  • Age of Horses: 3yo fillies only

The Coronation Stakes for three-year-olds fillies can be found as Royal Ascot results from the penultimate day of the meeting. Established in 1840, Sky Lantern, Alpha Centauri and Tahiyra are some of the great modern winners of this round mile contest. French fillies also have a good recent record in the race, reflecting the international appeal of Royal Ascot.

Enjoying Group 1 status since 1988, the Coronation Stakes is the next logical step for winners of the English, French or Irish 1000 Guineas ahead of other summer tests. Royal Ascot day 4 results here can impact the Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket or Nassau Stakes during Glorious Goodwood if fillies step up in trip. For those with overseas ambitions, the Prix Rothschild in France and Matron Stakes in Ireland are options down the line.

Position Silks Horse (Stall) Jockey Trainer Distance SP
1st Porta Fortuna silks alt Porta Fortuna (5) Tom Marquand Donnacha O’Brien (IRE) 1 length 7/2
2nd Michael Tabor silks Opera Singer (9) Ryan Moore Aidan O’Brien (IRE) 1½ lengths 100/30
3rd Ramatuelle silks Ramatuelle (1) Oisin Murphy Christopher Head (FR) 1¼ lengths 15/8F

The 1000 Guineas was turned on its head as Newmarket second Porta Fortuna went one better in the Coronation Stakes. Beaten a neck on the Rowley Mile, the switch to a round course led to a completely different result under Tom Marquand.

Donnacha O’Brien filly Porta Fortuna held his father’s Opera Singer close home with Newmarket third Ramatuelle filling the same spot for French trainer Christopher Head. Back in fourth was English Guineas heroine Elmalka. The cream really rose to the top here.

Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes Results

  • Class of Race: Class 2 Handicap
  • Race Distance: 1 mile and 4 furlongs (round)
  • Age of Horses: 3yo+ rated 0-105 on the Flat

Renamed in 1999 after the Queen’s consort, the late Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh,  the 15.40 Royal Ascot results for Friday feature this open mile-and-a-half handicap. This race has produced a subsequent winner of the Deutsches St Leger in Germany. Sir Michael Stoute, Hughie Morrison and Mark Johnston are all trainers to have had multiple successes in this event.

Position Horse (Stall) Jockey Trainer Distance SP
1st Crystal Black (4) Colin Keane Ger Keane (IRE) 2¼ lengths 11/1
2nd Epic Poet (16) Danny Tudhope David O’Meara neck 25/1
3rd Ziggy (13) Tom Marquand Harry Eustace head 11/1
4th Ethical Diamond (18) Ryan Moore Willie Mullins (IRE) ¾ of a length 7/4F

A father-son trainer-jockey combination struck in the Duke Of Edinburgh as Crystal Black proved he could do it away from the Curragh for Colin and Ger Keane. He completed a season hat-trick at a third different distance, storming clear of Epic Poet and Ziggy. Willie Mullins’ well-backed favourite Ethical Diamond pulled too hard, so was only fourth.

Sandringham Stakes Result

  • Class of Race: Class 2 Handicap
  • Race Distance: 1 mile (straight)
  • Age of Horses: 3yo fillies only rated 0-105 on the Flat

The Queen’s royal residence and Sandringham estate is honoured by lending its name to a straight mile handicap for three-year-old fillies. Past Royal Ascot Friday results from this event highlight how useful some winners of this are. Red Evie and Timepiece both stayed in training after Sandringham success and landed Group 1s. Persuasive, meanwhile, went to win the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes the same autumn.

Position Horse (Stall) Jockey Trainer Distance SP
1st Soprano (18) Billy Loughnane George Boughey ½ a length 14/1
2nd Strutting (33) Rachel King John & Thady Gosden ½ a length 33/1

4th Indelible (4) Hector Crouch Ralph Beckett ¾ of a length 5/1
5th Kitty Rose (22) Oisin Murphy Mick Price & Michael Kent Jr (AUS) ¾ of a length 7/2F

Billy Loughnane had a second winner of the meeting with Sandringham success on Soprano for George Boughey. He burst down the middle of the track and got up to deny Strutting and Uluru with the front three clear of fancied pair Indelible and Kitty Rose, who has been sold to race in Australia.

King Edward VII Stakes Results

  • Class of Race: Group 2
  • Race Distance: 1 mile and 4 furlongs (round)
  • Age of Horses: 3yo colts and geldings only

Royal Ascot’s equivalent of the Epsom Derby, the King Edward VII Stakes remembers another great patron of the sport. In fact, this was called the Ascot Derby upon its inauguration in 1834. Renamed to its current title in 1926, the King Edward VII is for three-year-old colts and geldings only. It is one of the chief supporting races in Royal Ascot results today from the Friday.

Solario and Nathaniel are famous winners of the King Edward VII. Earlier on in its history, this race was more important for horses’ careers at stud. Sir Michael Stoute has trained seven winners of the King Edward VII, so look out for his name in connection with Royal Ascot Friday results here.

Position Horse (Stall) Jockey Trainer Distance SP
1st Calandagan (13) Stephane Pasquier Francis-Henri Graffard (FR) 6 lengths 11/2
2nd Space Legend (8) James Doyle William Haggas 1¾ lengths 9/2
3rd Royal Supremacy (12) Oisin Murphy Andrew Balding ¾ of a length 40/1

A French-trained winner for the Aga Khan got in on the act at Royal Ascot as Calandagan bolted up in the King Edward. He shot six lengths clear of the improving Space Legend with outsider Royal Supremacy back in third. Well-backed favourite Diego Velazquez, one of four for Aidan O’Brien, flopped down in 10th spot.

Palace Of Holyrood House Stakes Result

  • Class of Race: Class 2 Handicap
  • Race Distance: 5 furlongs (straight)
  • Age of Horses: 3yo only rated 0-105 on the Flat

Once the seat of Scottish monarchs, Holyrood Palace or Holyrood House has been a royal residence for centuries. Although that is in Edinburgh and arguably the racecourse at Musselburgh would be a better venue to have a race named after it, this gets the Royal Ascot treatment. This three-year-old sprint handicap was only introduce to the meeting in 2020, so is still establishing itself.

Position Horse (Stall) Jockey Trainer Distance SP
1st Pilgrim (12) Joe Fanning David & Nicola Barron ½ a length 18/1
2nd Blue Storm (17) Hollie Doyle Gemma Tutty ¾ of a length 18/1
3rd No Half Measures (1) George Rooke Richard Hughes head 50/1
4th Woodhay Wonder (16) Tom Marquand Tom Ward ¾ of a length 10/1
5th Shagraan (19) Billy Loughnane Mick Appleby head 6/1

Father-daughter training duo David & Nicola Barron brought Pilgrim down from Yorkshire and came back with first prize in the Palace Of Holyrood House. The middle of the track was again the right spot as he held off closer Blue Storm. No Half Measures, a big outsider, was third ahead of more fancied runners Woodhay Wonder and Shagraan.

Royal Ascot Results Saturday

Royal Ascot results from Saturday include the Diamond Jubilee Stakes

Racing results from Royal Ascot conclude with the fifth and final day of action. Saturday’s stacked card contains a Group 1 sprint, the longest Flat race in Britain and a King George trial, not to mention a couple of handicaps and two events over the specialist distance of seven furlongs. These are all the Royal Ascot results from day 5:

Chesham Stakes Result

  • Class of Race: Listed
  • Race Distance: 7 furlongs (straight)
  • Age of Horses: 2yo only

The last of the Royal Ascot 14.30 results each year is for the Chesham Stakes. This is a juvenile contest established in 1919, originally as a sprint over five furlongs. It was then upped in distance to six and again to seven in 1996. There are some unique conditions to the Chesham in that sires and/or dams of the runners must’ve won over at least 1,900m (about a mile and 1½ furlongs).

Famous winners of this include Bakharoff, Be My Chief, Churchill and Pinatubo. Royal Ascot Saturday results from the Chesham often give pointers to the end of season Group 1s for juvenile colts like the Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket and Verterm Futurity Trophy at Doncaster.

Position Horse (Stall) Jockey Trainer Distance SP
1st Bedtime Story (3) Ryan Moore Aidan O’Brien (IRE) 9½ lengths 11/8F
2nd Pentle Bay (11) Tom Marquand George Boughey ½ a length 5/1
3rd Brian (15) Liam Keniry Sylvester Kirk ¾ of a length 12/1
4th Jewel Of London (1) Pat Dobbs Richard Hannon 1¼ lengths 80/1

A sixth success of the week for the Ryan Moore and Aidan O’Brien combination may have been the most impressive. Bedtime Story routed her rivals in the Chesham powering almost 10 lengths clear of the field. Pentle Bay was best of the rest in second, but trailing in the wake of the favourite. Brian and big outsider Jewel Of London took minor honours.

Hardwicke Stakes Result

  • Class of Race: Group 2
  • Race Distance: 1 mile and 4 furlongs (round)
  • Age of Horses: 4yo+

The Hardwicke Stakes is valuable event in its own right dating way back to 1879 but gives older horses a chance to warm-up for a tilt at the King George run at this venue in July. That’s why you should check Royal Ascot day 5 results on this race in particular. Originally open to three-year-olds, it was closed to them so as not to dilute the field for the King Edward VII Stakes run over the same mile-and-a-half distance.

Ormonde, Sceptre, Corrida and Stanerra are all famous Hardwicke winners to have races named after them. Doyen, Harbinger and Crystal Ocean are more recent big names to have won this race and have their name among big Royal Ascot results as victors. Following Hardwicke form closely can pay off for punters.

Position Silks Horse (Stall) Jockey Trainer Distance SP
1st Bradsell silks Isle Of Jura (5) Callum Shepherd George Scott 3¾ lengths 16/1
2nd Blank silks Goliath (1) Maxime Guyon Francis-Henri Graffard (FR) ¾ of a length 18/1
3rd Qatar Racing silks Middle Earth (8) Oisin Murphy John & Thady Gosden 1 length 9/4

Prolific in Bahrain, Isle Of Jura translated his form into a career-best on British shores with victory in the Hardwicke. Jockey Callum Shepherd lost a high-profile ride in The Derby just weeks before, but had his moment in the sun alongside trainer George Scott. Isle Of Jura ran out a ready winner over French raider Goliath with second-favourite Middle Earth, who missed the break, in third. Market leader Continuous did not fire.

Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes Results

  • Class of Race: Group 1
  • Race Distance: 6 furlongs (straight)
  • Age of Horses: 4yo+

On the final day of the meeting, Royal Ascot race 3 results are particularly important. First run in 1868, the feature of  since this last card since the festival was extended to a fifth day is a Group 1 sprint contest open to older horses. The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes as it’s known now was run as the Platinum Jubilee Stakes, Diamond Jubilee Stakes and Golden Jubilee Stakes celebrating milestones throughout the reign of the late monarch. It also used to be open to three-year-olds, but the creation of the Commonwealth Cup meant a change to conditions.

Diadem, Right Boy, Committed, Danehill, Choisir, Starspangledbanner and Black Caviar are just some of the legendary winners of this sprint over six furlongs. In 2019, Blue Point record a famous Royal Ascot double when he followed-up on King’s Stand Stakes success with Diamond Jubilee Stakes glory. Winners can go on to the July Cup, Haydock Sprint Cup and Champions Sprint Stakes here later on in the season.

Position Silks Horse (Stall) Jockey Trainer Distance SP

4th Highclere Thoroughbred silks Believing (5) Danny Tudhope George Boughey 1½ lengths 3/1F
5th Vadream silks Vadream (6) Kieran Shoermark Charlie Fellowes neck 100/1

Repeating last year’s shock 80/1 win but at far shorter odds of 14/1 was Khaadem. A lover of fast ground, he retained his Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes crown getting up past gallant filly Swingalong. Fancied pair Mill Stream and Believing also hit the frame with 100/1 rank outsider Vadream rounding off the first five.

Jersey Stakes Results

  • Class of Race: Group 3
  • Race Distance: 7 furlongs (straight)
  • Age of Horses: 3yo only

Also established in 1919, the Jersey Stakes for three-year-olds tests horses over the specialist distance of seven furlongs. Past Royal Ascot results here include a famous dead-heat in 1994 with notable winners including Indian Ridge, Mozart and Ribchester.

Over the years, this race has helped horses go on to campaign over a mile or drop back in trip for big sprints. Before becoming one of the Royal Ascot day 5 results, this race often readied winners for a tilt at the July Cup with favourable weight for age terms.

Position Horse (Stall) Jockey Trainer Distance SP

2nd Kikkuli (14) Oisin Murphy Harry Charlton 1 length 14/1
3rd Chicago Critic (18) Ben Coen Johnny Murtagh 1 length 80/1
4th Mountain Bear (19) Wayne Lordan Aidan O’Brien (IRE) 2 lengths 50/1

After placing in two Classics, Haatem had his day after just holding on from Kikkuli in the Jersey. The front two, separated by a nose in a photo finish, were a length clear of 80/1 outsider Chicago Critic with fellow Irish raider Mountain Bear back in fourth. River Tiber was another O’Brien favourite under Moore to flop.

Wokingham Stakes Result

  • Class of Race: Heritage Handicap
  • Race Distance: 6 furlongs (straight)
  • Age of Horses: 3yo+ rated 0-110 on the Flat

The last of the big Heritage Handicaps, the Wokingham, is also among the Royal Ascot results on Saturday. Using the same course and distance as the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes, this sprint handicap dates back to 1813. Named after the nearby town, a horse also called Wokingham won the race in consecutive years during the early 1880s. There was a dead heat in 2003 too despite always attracting a large field. Rohaan won this in consecutive years in 2021 and 2022.

Orazio recorded a better finishing position than 12 months ago in third with Yorkshire-based duo Lethal Levi and well-weighted Glenfinnan home next.

Golden Gates Stakes Results

  • Class of Race: Class 2 Handicap
  • Race Distance: 1 mile and 2 furlongs (round)
  • Age of Horses: 3yo only rated 0-105 on the Flat

Penultimate among Royal Ascot Saturday results, the three-year-olds only Golden Gates Stakes is a handicap only recently added to the schedule. A 10-furlong event, this is an alternative for horses in that age bracket to the Hampton Court Stakes earlier in the meeting. The inaugural winner, Highland Chief, went on to be trained in America and land a Grade 1 on turf at Belmont Park.

4th Nerano (10) Dylan Browne McMonagle Joseph O’Brien (IRE) 2½ lengths 18/1

After going close earlier in the meeting, Harry Charlton had a Royal Ascot winner when saddling Hand Of God to victory in the Golden Gates. He came from the rear under William Buick, who had a hard luck story on the yard’s King’s Gambit. Topweight Cambridge chased the well-backed favourite home with those front two clear of Black Run. Nerano rounded off the first four.

Queen Alexandra Stakes Result

  • Class of Race: Class 2 Conditions
  • Race Distance: 2 miles and 5½ furlongs (round)
  • Age of Horses: 4yo+

Last and by no means least, the final Royal Ascot results are for the longest Flat horse race in the British Isles. The Queen Alexandra Stakes, named after the wife of King Edward VII, is a conditions races over a marathon distance of almost two-and-three-quarter miles.

You often see National Hunt racehorses taking part in this extreme stamina test famously won by Brown Jack in six consecutive years (1929-1934). Established back in 1865, the Queen Alexandra is often won by more mature horses as only they develop the endurance required to win this demanding last race of the royal meeting.

Position Horse (Stall) Jockey Trainer Distance SP
1st Uxmal (6) Dylan Browne McMonagle Joseph O’Brien (IRE) 5 lengths  2/1F
2nd Run For Oscar (11) Maxine Guyon Charles Byrnes (IRE) 3¼ lengths 4/1
3rd Dawn Rising (7) William Buick Joseph O’Brien (IRE) 4¼ lengths 3/1

Joseph O’Brien ended a disappointing week on a high by again saddling the winner of the Queen Alexandra. Uxmal showed a lovely turn of foot in the home straight to beat last year’s third Run For Oscar, played too late, and the 2023 winner Dawn Rising. That Irish 1-2-3 were home in front of Paul Nicholls’ French import Fasol. Uxmal became favouite as both Queenstown and Trueshan were non-runners.
