Last year’s winner TEMPORIZE has a fine record in the months of July/August, recording form figures of 113726211 (4-9) for a profit of £27.25 to a £1 level stake at SP. Since his debut for current trainer Syd Hosie the score is 211 (2-3), with the defeat by a head. His forcing style will be an asset in a race lacking other pace angles and he could prove hard to pass.

ARNAZ (system – Ed Walker, 3yo sprint handicappers, turf)
Since the beginning of 2018, Ed Walker’s three-year-old sprint handicappers have a fine record on turf, landing 38 of their 147 starts (25.9% strike-rate) for a profit of £70.24 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 22.55, A/E = 1.69). ARNAZ could only finish fourth when the 5-2 favourite at Thirsk last time but that was over 7f and the cut back to 6f could suit.
