ASCOT 1.15
OUR TERMS (system – Crocker Bulteel Maiden, Richard Hannon)
The Hannon yard has a fine recent record in the Crocker Bulteel Maiden, a race confined to those who had a maximum of one previous outing under their belts, landing the race seven times since 2013 (from just 12 runners) for a profit of £17.19 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 2.51, A/E = 2.79). OUR TERMS, the mount of Ryan Moore, caught the eye when a 16-1 fourth of 13 from off the pace on hi recent debut at Newmarket and can get off the mark.
ASCOT 1.50
TALES OF THE HEART (system – Princess Margaret Stakes, prepped at Newmarket)
Since 2012, backing all runners in the Group 3 Princess Margaret Stakes at Ascot who ran at Newmarket last time would have found nine winners from 33 bets for a profit of £38.16. Those who contested the Group 2 Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes at Newmarket’s July Festival were six from 15 in the same period (+£28.82). Duchess Of Cambridge runners who were ridden patiently at Newmarket, as TALES OF THE HEART was, had form figures of 118112 (4-6) for a profit of £32.63, suggesting that Ralph Beckett’s juvenile can improve on his HQ fifth. MANDURAH also ran at Newmarket last time, landing a fillies’ novice contest, and could be worth a saver.
YORK 4.35
BOY DOUGLAS (system – New Bay handicappers, top three finish last time out)
Simply backing progeny of New Bay in handicaps, who finished in the top three last time out, would have found 98 winners from 372 bets (26.3%) for a profit of £125.55 to the usual £1 stake (expected winners = 69.57, A/E = 1.41). BOY DOUGLAS, runner-up over 1m1f here last time on good to soft going, won’t mind the quicker going and has solid claims.
