ENDEAVOURYOURDREAM ran a promising race on her debut at Carlisle on June 17th, making ground from the rear on the stands’ side rail – the slowest part of the track – to finish fourth of eight. Richard Fahey’s juvenile was sent off as a 7-2 joint-favourite that day and, since the spring of 2016, her trainer is seven from 22 with second-time out two-year-olds who were beaten when heading the market on their debuts. BAMA LAMA can usually be relied upon to run her race when facing handicap company in the July-August period, recording form figures under these conditions of 1122331261 (4-10), with the sole unplaced effort excusable as she did too much too soon over 6f/soft ground here last summer. Her two course runs over today’s 5f trip produced a win and a runner-up effort and she looks set to run a big race if tracking the early pace, rather than getting into a scrap for the lead with fellow pace angles TWAYBLADE and BRANDY STATION. If they too go too hard and the headwind is stronger than forecast, this race could be set up for a closer and the one I want to save on is REDSHORE CITY, 12-1 with Spreadex. Bernard Llewellyn’s four-year-old had plenty of soft-ground form in Ireland and finished a creditable 16-1 three-length fifth over 6f here on his recent stable debut.
