Since the beginning of 2017 Jamie Osborne has a 25 from 187 record (13.4% strike-rate) with his handicap debutants and backing them blind would have returned a huge profit of £135.10 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 14.77, A/E = 1.69). SIGNATURE BLUE’s form figures of 070 (0-3) don’t inspire confidence but he started at odds of 100-1, 80-1 and 250-1 and he hinted at ability when seventh of 12 at Kempton on his second start. Expect improvement.

NEW KINGS ROAD (system – Sioux Nation, small fields)
Progeny of the sire Sioux Nation have a fine record in small fields, with ten runners being the cut-off point. They’ve won just 26 of their 461 starts (5.6%) in fields of 11+ (-£224.98 to a £1 level stake at SP) but are 94 from 521 (18%) in fields of ten or fewer runners for a profit of £88.31 (after Pop Star’s 9-1 win yesterday). NEW KINGS ROAD contributed when seeing off six rivals at Salisbury last time and can follow up from a good draw.
