6.10 Fairyhouse
KORTEZ BAY (system – New Bay progeny, top three finish last time out)
Progeny of the sire New Bay tend to hold their form well an simply backing those who recorded a top three finish last time out would have found 145 winners from 544 bets (26.7%) for a profit of £136.44 to a £1 level stake at SP. KORTEZ BAY gave the leaders too much rope when third in a 7f Curragh maiden last time and can finally get off the mark at the ninth attempt.
6.15 Bath
JUBA (system – Brian Meehan 2yo newcomers, colts/geldings)
Brian Meehan’s juvenile newcomers have a reputation for needing their first run but, since 2018, we’d have made a profit of £81.33 by backing the colts/geldings (12 winners from 93 bets). Fifteen of the beaten horses finished second or third, often at big prices, and perhaps JUBA, a gelded son of Profitable, can defy odds of around 25-1.
7.50 Bath
KINGMONT (system – sire Calyx)
Simply backing all progeny of the sire Calyx in Britain and Ireland would have found 45 winners from 228 bets (19.7% strike-rate) for a profit of £113.21 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 35.58, A/E = 1.26). KINGMONT has already contributed with a 1m3f Kempton success in April and will appreciate the return to this longer trip after her 1m2f Beverley fourth last month.
