The form of TURN UP THE HEAT’s bath second to Star Jasmine in a fillies’ maiden worth £15k to the winner received a boost when the winner was narrowly denied at Hamilton last Sunday where she was making her handicap debut off a mark of 82. Ralph Beckett’s three-year-old beat only one home in a 1m2f Ascot handicap next time but hated the fast ground and will be happier back on Polytrack and back down in trip to 1m. Well drawn in stall 2 of ten in this fillies’ handicap, a race her trainer won last year, she rates a buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.

RIPON 7.55
TWELFTH KNIGHT was only beaten by a head in this 6f handicap 12 months ago when it was a 0-95 Class 3 contest and he looks very interesting in this year’s renewal, downgraded to a 0-85 Class 4. The five-year-old was trained by Ruth Carr that day but won over course and distance at this level last August on his second start for Paul Midgley, who is enjoying a typically profitable June. Twelfth Knight’s full course record below Class 2 level stands at 1231 (2-4), with the defeats by a head and half a length and he can be bought in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or back each-way at a fixed odds price.
