Spreadex offers both normal fixed odds betting plus spread betting on horse racing. There are some key differences between this form of gambling and placing regular fixed odds bets. Get the calls right and punters could win big, but the potential to lose money can be much higher. Intrigued? Then check out this how to spread bet on horse racing guide:
Andrew heads to Chester and day two of the May meeting for his two recommended bets/trades on Thursday, May 9th. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:
CHESTER 1.30
Course expert ROMAN DRAGON has the plum draw in stall 1 for this 5f handicap and can be bought in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market. Hugo Palmer’s five-year-old has course figures of 511243148412215 (5-15), improving to 51121441221 (5-11) in sprints when drawn in stall 6 or lower. All his Chester wins came over an extra furlong but there’s an awful lot of early pace, in this race and he should be able to stalk the leaders on the inner before pouncing late.
Recommendation: Back ROMAN DRAGON in Chester 1.30
CHESTER 3.40
At the time of writing ARREST was trading as the 2-1 favourite for the Group 3 Oromonde Stakes, despite only finishing seventh of ten when an 11-4 shot for last month’s John Porter Stakes at Newbury. John & Thady Gosden’s four-year-old hacked up on soft ground at this meeting 12 months ago, but the drying ground is against him and it’s interesting to note that older (4yo+) progeny of Frankel are just two from 37 on the Roodee for a loss of £25.75 to a £1 level stake at SP. Sell in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market. Fixed odds punters might want to side with POINT LONSDALE, whose record in Europe below Group1 level reads 111111 (6-6), including victory in the Group 2 Huxley Stakes at this meeting last year.
Recommendation: Oppose ARREST in Chester 3.40
