Rumours of a Kevin De Bruyne transfer continue to do the round, but the Manchester City midfielder will not be moving to Saudi Arabia.
Kevin De Bruyne Transfer Exclusive
Sources are adamant that out of all the options that could be open to Kevin De Bruyne at the end of this season, moving to the Middle East is not something he plans to consider.
He has long been eyed as a potential signing for the Saudi Pro League and there is going to be a fresh push for elite talent at the end of this Premier League season.
De Bruyne, 32, has a contract at City that is due to expire in June 2025, and it is not yet clear how the future looks.
It is understood he has no intention of following the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Riyad Mahrez and Sadio Mane from the Premier League to Saudi Arabia.
De Bruyne will have other options, both in Europe and in the United States, but he could also yet sign a new contract at City.
The club are planning new talks aimed at extending his current contract and are hopeful to add one more year to the agreement.
It is understood the player is keen to stay on at City – even though his £375,000-a-week wages are unlikely to continue.
Yet there is also a belief he has real interest in trying a life in America, and MLS have previously made their interest in De Bruyne known.
It could be that De Bruyne stays at City for now and looks into his US ambitions at a later date.
But talks are due soon to decide the terms on any new contract and City are relieved he is not having his head turned by interest from the SPL.
