Spreadex offers both normal fixed odds betting plus spread betting on horse racing. There are some key differences between this form of gambling and placing regular fixed odds bets. Get the calls right and punters could win big, but the potential to lose money can be much higher. Intrigued? Then check out this how to spread bet on horse racing guide:

Andrew made a good profit with his buy of DAVID PROBERT at Goodwood on Friday and has three recommended bets/trades on Saturday, May 4th. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:

NEWMARKET 1.10

The Rowley Mile course at Newmarket favours front-runners/prominent racers and the bias was stronger than ever at last month’s Craven meeting thanks to the tailwind. Numerous winners made all or most of the running at that three-day meeting and those who were beaten under patient rides can have their efforts safely ignored. Three such horses have already scored on their next start – Lavender Hill Mob (12-1) at Goodwood yesterday, Cajetan (2-1 from the overnight 8-1) at Kempton on Wednesday and Isle Of Lismore (11-1) at Ascot on the same day – and perhaps HERITAGE HOUSE can keep the ball rolling. James Fanshawe’s three-year-old, the only runner from the classic generation in today’s eight-runner line-up, belied her 150-1 Starting Prince when keeping on into fifth of ten in the Nell Gwyn Stakes and the cut back to 6f and drop to Listed company from Group 3 level will suit. Horses from her age group have a good record in this race and she can be bought in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or backed each-way in the fixed odds betting.

Recommendation: Back HERITAGE HOUSE in Newmarket 1.10

GOODWOOD 1.35

GAMEKEEPER trailed home 14th of 17 at Newmarket last month but John & Thady Gosden’s Blue Point colt had little chance from off the pace (see above). The step up to 7f could suit, he has form on soft ground, and he looks a bet now dropping from Class 2 to Class 3 level. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.

Recommendation: Back GAMEKEEPER in Goodwood 1.35

THIRSK 3.15

When you see perpetual ‘twicer’ ARECIBO forecast to start as the 4-1 favourite you have to sit up, take notice and find something else to bet in the race. The nine-year-old is very difficult to win with but his narrow 20-1 second on last month’s debut for Declan Carroll at Musselburgh will draw the punters in. That was his 11th runner-up effort from 54 starts since leaving France and he’s 0-24 on his start immediately following a top-four finish. Paul Midgley is seven from 60 (+£19.00) to a £1 level stake at SP with his runners returning from wind surgery and SPRING IS SPRUNG, who looks well drawn in stall 14 of 15, could be the one to benefit. Buy in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market or take a fixed odds price.

Recommendation: Back SPRING IS SPUING in Thirsk 3.15
