LUDLOW 3.05
CONCETTO has won two of his last three starts and is forecast by the Racing Post to start as 4-1 for this 3m handicap chase. However, the seven-year-old made a bad mistake when scoring at Huntingdon last time and his two previous runs over Ludlow’s tricker fences have resulted in defeats – a six-and-a-half length second (15-8 favourite) and a 26-length fourth of nine when sent off at 9-2. Throw in a long, hard season – he’s beem on the go since October – and he looks worth opposing. Sell in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.
Recommendation: Oppose CONCETTO in Ludlow 3.05
TAUNTON 4.42
WALKS LIKE THE MAN was only eighth at Sandown on his final outing for Anthony Charlton last month but that was in the 17-runner Grade 3 EBF Final and he clocked a fast time for his 18-length defeat. New handler Harriet Dickin has done well with the ex- Milton Harris/Anthony Charlton runners of late, scoring with Legionar (in these colours) and twice with Yalla Habibi, suggesting that Walks Like The Man could be worth a bet now dropping down to Class 4 level. Buy in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market. ROGER POL is forecast to start as 502 joint-favourite but he’s looked a tricky ride on occasions, finishing second in three of his last four completed starts, and was pulled up behind the selection in the EBF Final.
Recommendation: Back WALKS LIKE THE MAN in Taunton 4.42
BELLEWSTOWN 7.05
Progeny of the sire Fame And Glory need time and it was no surprise that seven-year-old O’FAOLAINS GLORY didn’t get off the mark until her tenth career start when bolting up in first-time cheekpieces at Down Royal on April 14th. The visual impression she made that day was backed up by the clock and she’s going to be hard to beat despite the 10lb ratings hike. Buy in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
