JOE FANNING has a good book of rides at Musselburgh today, headed by INDIVIDUALISM in the 5.45, and can be bought in the MUSSELBURGH JOCKEYS market. Charlie Johnston’s three-year-old has a tricky wide draw to contend with but has the early speed to overcome it and the form of his Newmarket novice fifth Zoum Zoum last backend couldn’t have worked out much better – the winner, runner-up (Kikkuli), third (Balmacara) and fourth (Economics) all scored at the next time of asking – and it will be disappointing if he doesn’t pick up at least ten points. AHAMOMENT (4.45) was a comfortable winner at Newcastle in January on his return from a 161-day break and the 93-day layoff can be viewed positively. BOHEMIAN BRREZE’s last two wins have come on the all-weather but he won an Ayr maiden on his most recent turf assignment and can pick up points in the 5.15. ZARZYNI is a notoriously tricky ride who often finds traffic trouble in big fields. However, he likes Musselburgh and his lowish draw might actually help as he should see daylight down the outside.

CURRAGH 5.00
DOWNFORCE has a fine record in the spring (March to May) on officially soft or heavy going, landing five of his 17 such starts for a profit of £21.50 to a £1 level stake at SP. The veteran returned with a 9-1 fourth of 20 over course and distance last month and, with that run behind him, might be capable of one last victory before retirement beckons. Buy in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market or back him each-way at a fixed odds price.
