Seven of the 18 beaten horses finished second and MONTREGARD might be able to put his disappointing handicap debut (sixth of eight) behind him.

His trainer has a nine from 35 record when using first-time headgear in all-weather handicaps for a profit of £20.63 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 4.58, A/E = 1.97) and he placed at this venue on his penultimate start.
