Liverpool head into the FA Cup quarter-final with a superb record, which will worry Manchester United.

Liverpool FA Cup Quarter-Final Record

Liverpool have won 17 of their last 18 FA Cup quarter-final games. Their last defeat in an FA Cup quarter-final came in 1995 against Tottenham Hotspur.

However, Liverpool’s FA Cup record with Jurgen Klopp isn’t the best. They did win the tournament in 2022 – beating Chelsea on penalties in the final but this is only the second time in eight seasons that Klopp has lead Liverpool beyond the FA Cup fifth round stage. The last time they reached an FA Cup quarter-final they did prevail – beating Nottingham Forest 1-0 at the City ground.

Klopp’s record against Manchester United is fairly positive but he has suffered FA Cup misery against them before.

Manchester United beat Liverpool 3-2 at Old Trafford in the FA Cup 4th round in 2021.

This should matter not for a Liverpool side yearning for a fairytale send-off for Jurgen Klopp, with a quadruple still firmly in the crosshairs.

Liverpool v Manchester United record

Under Klopp, Liverpool have faced Manchester United 19 times, yielding a total of four defeats, seven wins and eight draws.

As for Erik Ten Hag, he’s experienced wins losses and draws in equal measure against the Reds, although THAT 7-0 defeat at Anfield last season will loom large for the foreseeable.

Across the 240 times that the pair have played each other, there have been 69 draws, 90 Manchester United wins and 81 Liverpool wins.

Manchester United had their fair share of experiences at Wembley last season. They beat Newcastle 2-0 at Wembley in the Carabao Cup final and they beat Brighton on penalties to make it to the final in the FA Cup. Manchester United stumbled in the final and but were beaten 2-1 by Manchester City.

United have failed to score in six of their last nine meetings with Liverpool in all competitions, including the last two. They’ve not gone three in a row without a goal against the Reds since May 1977.
