PERCY WILLIS (system – Jedd O’Keeffe long travellers)
Since the beginning of 2018, Jedd O’Keeffe has sent only 12 horses on a journey of more than 250 miles to the races and they produced three winners (14-1, 9-1 and 15-2) as well as two seconds (8-1 and 7-1). The North Yorkshire-based handler sends PERCY WILLIS all the way to Lingfield for the first time since his 1m4f novice stakes second in February 2021 when trained by Eve Johnson Houghton. The six-year-old’s sole Lingfield run overt today’s 1m2f trip saw him finish a half-length third when best of those to come from off the pace in a steadily-run contest and the booking of Oisin Murphy takes the eye.

FOREVER PROUD (system – Sioux Nation, small fields)
Progeny of the Sioux Nation seem happiest in small fields and that was certainly the case with the sire during his racing career – three of his four wins came in fields of eight or fewer runners and the other in a split field when racing with his three rivals on the far side in the 2017 Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot. Backing all Sioux Nation progeny in fields of nine or fewer runners would have found 62 winners from 331 bets (18.7% strike-rate) for a profit of £63.51 (expected winners = 52.74, A/E = 1.18). FOREVER PROUD contributed with an 18-1 course and distance win last week and can follow up.
