Progeny of the sire Gentlewave have a solid record over fences, with 26 winners from 127 bets (20.5%) for a profit of £33.08 to a £1 level stake at SP. Those having their third chase starts were five from 14 (35.7%) for a profit of £20.08. Point winner SENIOR CHIEF, third and second in his two chase runs under rules, can make it third time lucky.
MUSSELBURGH 3.50
THEIRSHEGOES (system – Sandy Thomson, winter runners)
In-form Sandy Thomson does well in the depths of winter and, since 2012, simply backing his runners in November, December, January and February would have found 127 winners from 706 bets (18% strike-rate) for a profit of £219.19 to a £1 level stake at SP. THEIRSHEGOES didn’t see it out over 3m here last time and looks interesting now back to 2m4f.

HIGH VELOCITY (switchers – David Loughnane, handicaps)
David Loughnane has a good recent record at the first time of asking with horses he takes over from other yards, with the handicappers landing 14 of their 77 starts since 2019 for a profit of £21.25 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 7.5, A/E = 1.87). HIGH VELOCITY has been gelded since leaving James Tate and could be worth chancing at a nice price under Rossa Ryan.
