Pundit Jamie Carragher has claimed that Arsenal are capable of stopping Manchester City from winning a second consecutive Champions League title.
Having won their inaugural Champions League trophy last summer, Manchester City are strong favourites to go all the way in the UCL again this year.
Having comfortably beaten round of 16 opponents Copenhagen 3-1 on Tuesday evening questions have begun to circle as to whether any team currently in the competition can compete with the Citizens.

Carragher: Arsenal Can Stop City In The Champions League
However, with Arsenal going strong in both the Premier League and Champions League, pundit Jamie Carragher believes the Gunners are more than capable of stopping Manchester City from winning their second consecutive European trophy.
Speaking on the Stick To Football podcast, Carragher said: “I’m looking at the Champions League thinking, ‘Who could stop [Manchester] City?’, I’m thinking probably Arsenal.
“If they met each other, we know City would be massive favourites, but I think Arsenal have got a decent chance [of beating them].
“When you look at it, because Arsenal haven’t won anything big yet, this team, we’re still thinking how good are they?
“Then you go & watch the Champions League & I’m watching Bayern Munich – Arsenal are a better team – Arsenal would beat Bayern Munich. I think Arsenal would beat PSG.”
The Gunners beat Manchester City 1-0 back in October thanks to a late Gabriel Martinelli strike, but with Pep Guardiola’s Champions League nouse, it’s anyone’s guess as to whether they could repeat the feat in the Champions League.
Mikel Arteta’s side face, previous Champions League winners, FC Porto at the Estádio do Dragão next Wednesday evening where they will be hoping to make a statement to their Champions League, and Premier League, rivals.
