I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here winner and Chelsea fan Sam Thompson has revealed how he feels about the Blues’ current situation.

Sam Thompson On Chelsea

Chelsea currently sit 10th in the Premier League table after an up-and-down start to life in west London for Mauricio Pochettino.

The Blues have spent £1b on transfer fees since new owner Todd Boehly took over the club in 2022, but have struggled to gel their new signings into a winning team.

Reality TV star, Sam Thompson was joined by Jordan North and Kae Kurd to discuss how they feel about their respective clubs, Chelsea, Burnley and Manchester United.

On Chelsea, Sam Thompson said: “I sometimes go to sleep at night thinking ‘How are United hammered so much and we’re [not]?’, but it’s more of a disappointment for us, it’s more disrespectful of us. We’re not getting hammered and we’re 10th.

“As a Chelsea fan, I don’t really like my club that much at the moment. I go to most games but I don’t like it. Everything feels wrong.

“What we’ve done is gone statistics-led. It’s the guy from Brighton, who obviously bought some great players for Brighton. We’re meant to be a top-four team. The problem I have with it is you’re buying players who Brighton have the time to see if they work. We don’t have that time!

Asked whether Chelsea have overspent and bought too many players, the I’m a Celebrity winner responded: “Massively. We’re a laughing stock as well because now we’ve got the Man[chester] United problem from a few years ago where everything is massively inflated.

“We’ve spent a billion pounds and you haven’t even bought a striker.

When asked who he would like Chelsea to sign this January, the former Made in Chelsea star said: “No one! I don’t want anyone. I’ve had enough.

“We’ve got enough. We’ve spent what we’ve spent, we now have to lie in the bed that we’ve made.

“In the summer, we’ve got to get a striker but then if we dare sell Conor Gallagher in January I’m going to cry.”
