Midnight Legend is a sire I follow closely, especially in the second half of the peaks jumps season. Chasers with Midnight Legend as their damsire also have a good record, with 36 winners from 200 bets (18%) for a profit of £51.13 to a £1 level stake at SP. GAME SOCKS was reportedly never travelling when pulled up at Fontwell on Boxing Days but that run, his second one after a 499-day break, might still have been needed and he’s worth another chance.

Kevin Philippart De Foy has a good record with stable switchers, especially those aged four plus who were running in handicaps. He’s won with seven of the 23 qualifiers for a profit of £22.88 to a £1 level stake at SP. HOTAUGUSTNIGHT, third at Dundalk on his final start for Fozzy Stack, can make a winning start for new connections.
WOLVERHAMPTON 8.30
MUTABAAHY (system – Antony Brittain, January/February, colts/geldings, recent run)
Antony Brittain has a good record with colts/geldings at this time of year (January to February), especially with those who had raced within the past three weeks. He’s won with 43 of the 250 qualifiers (17.2%) for a profit of £75.38 to a £1 level stake at SP. MUTABAAHY would have needed the run after a two-month break when a 50-1 seventh of nine at Newcastle 12 days ago and can reward each-way support from a handy draw.
