Former Celtic star, Jota, is still on the hunt for a move away from Saudi Arabia, with a host of Premier League sides keen on landing the winger’s signature.

Jota Transfer News

Jota is still working on a pathway out of Saudi Arabia, with West Ham and Newcastle United offering themselves as potential landing spots in the Premier League.

His move to Al-Ittihad has not gone to plan at all after joining for £25million from Celtic last summer, as the Portuguese winger has endured a very tough time of things in the Middle East – being left out of the squad and not even included in a recent training camp in Dubai.

It’s that latest development that suggests there will be no way back for Jota, which has sparked hope at West Ham and Newcastle that they might be able to land the 24-year-old on a cheaper deal.

On the back of Jordan Henderson’s Saudi exit, Jota is involved in ongoing conversations that could lead to a similar departure and if he becomes available, he is the type of low-cost deal that would appeal to both clubs right now.

West Ham are negotiating terms around the signing of Ibrahim Osman from FC Nordsjaelland, but insiders believe that deal is very much one for the future as there is little chance of him having an impact on the first-team any time soon.

Jota has a different edge to him that would undoubtedly help the Hammers in the second half of the season. Similarly, Newcastle want a new creative option and adding the Portuguese winger would help fill the void left by Miguel Almiron if negotiations are able to progress.

An interesting addition to the deal is that Newcastle are PIF-owned, the same as Jota’s current club Al-Ittihad. Eddie Howe’s side are open minded about how this transfer window closes and there is still potential for signings in attacking areas if the right opportunities open up.
