Manchester United Vs Tottenham Combined XI Based On FPL Points
To form the Manchester United Vs Tottenham combined XI ahead of Sunday’s Premier League match, we have chosen the 4-3-3 formation. We believe this is the most suitable shape to fit in the players from both sides with the most FPL points so far in 2023/24.
Goalkeeper
Andre Onana – Manchester United (72 points)
Starting in goal for our combined team is United shot-stopper Andre Onana. Despite taking some criticism for his performances this season – particularly in the Champions League – Onana is actually United’s top FPL points scorer.
The Cameroonian international may or may not be away at the Africa Cup of Nations this month, with his availability unclear currently. He sneaks in ahead of Spurs’ Vicario, who has 72 FPL points.
Defenders
Pedro Porro – Tottenham (77 points)
At right-back is Pedro Porro of Tottenham. The Spaniard has been in great form this year and pushes United’s Diogo Dalot over to the left in our Combined XI.
With 77 points, he is Spurs’ third-highest FPL scorer, thanks to his seven assists in the Premier League already this season.
Victor Lindelof – Manchester United (42 points)
Although currently out with a groin injury, Lindelof’s form this season earns him a spot with 42 FPL points.
The Swedish international has a goal and an assist in 12 Premier League games this season, and makes the starting squad for our combined team.
Christian Romero – Tottenham (62 points)
Partnering Lindelof at the back is another man who’s currently injured. Tottenham’s Christian Romero is out until February with a hamstring problem, but still makes our team.
The Argentine has three goals to add to his five clean sheets, and has racked up 62 FPL points so far.
Diogo Dalot – Manchester United (58 points)
Although usually a right-back, Portuguese defender Diogo Dalot can operate on the left – and does in this team thanks to some limited options on this side of the defence.
The Portuguese fullback was sent off in United’s 0-0 draw at Anfield, but has been in good form so far this campaign. He returned from suspension in United’s 3-2 win over Aston Villa, and has started all but three league games for the club.
Midfielders
Scott McTominay – Manchester United (64 points)
The first of our midfielders is United’s Scott McTominay. The Scotland star has seen a brilliant return to form under Eric Ten Hag this season.
Having been expected to depart Old Trafford at one stage, McTominay is now one of United’s most important players. With 64 FPL points to date, he’s a solid pick in our combined XI.
Bruno Fernandes – Manchester United (68 points)
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes’ is the club’s second-highest FPL points scorer after Onana.
Until he was suspended for the trip to Anfield, he’d played every minute available in the Premier League this season.
Now back in the squad, he makes our combined team, though in a deeper midfield role than he would like to be playing. It’s not the most balanced XI in the world, but Bruno will have to get on with it in order to fit him into the side.
James Maddison – Tottenham (63 points)
Fernandes has been dropped back to allow this man into the lineup. If it weren’t for the ankle injury he picked up in November, who knows how many points the little maestro would have scored by now.
Aiming to return by the end of January, James Maddison was in great form before he was sidelined. Such great form in fact that he keeps his place in our combined XI despite not playing in two months.
Forwards
Dejan Kulusevski – Tottenham (79 points)
The first of our attacking three is Tottenham’s Dejan Kulusevski. The Swedish international has popped up with five goals and two assists in the league this season.
With 79 points, only one player from either Manchester United or Tottenham has been better for FPL players this year.
Son Heung-Min – Tottenham (136 points)
And there’s no prizes for guessing who that is. Son Heung-Min has been sensational since stepping up as Tottenham captain. With 136 FPL points, he is second of anyone in the Premier League, behind only Liverpool’s Mo Salah.
Unfortunately for both Spurs fans and FPL managers, Son is now away with South Korea in the Asian Cup, and could be unavailable until well into February.
Richarlison – Tottenham (73 points)
And rounding out our Manchester United Vs Tottenham combined XI is another Spurs man in Richarlison. The Brazilian striker has finally found his rhythm at Tottenham this season, scoring six goals in 12 games.
With 73 points, he walks into the team ahead of any United striker. Marcus Rashford is the closest competition with 60, but would more likely feature on the wing if it weren’t for Son and Kulusevski’s incredible form.
Manchester United Vs Tottenham Combined XI FPL Total Points: 794
