In the latest Man United transfer exclusive, SportsLens can reveal that the club are showing serious interest in Crystal Palace star Michael Olise and could explore a deal ahead of the summer.
Michael Olise High On United’s List
He (Olise) is seen as the perfect profile fit with Manchester United looking to explore options on the right side of their attack for the long-term. Concerns over Antony’s form this season have sparked a genuine feeling that the club may need to recruit in this area as the side grows.
Alejandro Garnacho has shown he can excel in that position, but it is unclear if that will be a permanent solution so the club will continue to look at it across this season.
Olise is only 22 and has the Premier League experience under his belt at Crystal Palace that signals he would be able to handle life in the limelight.
The likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal also have an eye on him, so this would not be straight forward, but it has been confirmed by sources that Olise is a legitimate target they (Man United) will track through 2024.
Erik Ten Hag Not Looking For Permanent Deals This January
New signings are not really on the agenda at Old Trafford this month, with a loan addition the most likely outcome if they do add to the front line.
United often intended to focus on outgoing players in this transfer window because they are clearing the decks ready for an influx of signings in the summer window.
New part owners Ineos have been assessing the business, and as such would prefer not to see any major changes to the team yet that will have an impact on the long term future.
That is part of the reason United are not keen to make January decisions on Casemiro and Rafael Varane, as previously reported here.
The early attention this month has clearly been guided towards outgoings, with Donny van de Beek and Jadon Sancho already shown the door and Hannibal Mejbri and Facundo Pellistri likely to out on loan soon too.
