Chelsea YouTuber Rory Jennings fumes following his side’s “embarrassing” Carabao Cup loss to Middlesbrough and calls for manager Mauricio Pochettino to be sacked.
Middlesbrough Vs. Chelsea: Carabao Cup Match Report
In a match featuring two previous winners of the Carabao Cup, Chelsea headed into proceedings as strong favourites.
However, Hayden Hackney’s 37th-minute opener stunned the Premier League strugglers as the Championship side went 1-0 up.
In response, Chelsea were relentless in their pursuit of an equaliser but failed to capitalise on their dominance.
Missed chances from Cole Palmer, Conor Gallagher and Nicolas Jackson subjected Chelsea to their first defeat in a domestic cup competition to a lower league side since 2015, where they lost 4-2 to Bradford at Stamford Bridge.
That’s now nine defeats and 12 victories for Mauricio Pochettino since he took over in the summer and pressure is building for the Argentinian.

What Did Rory Jennings Say About Chelsea’s Carabao Cup Defeat To Middlesbrough?
Jennings, who is known for his divisive football opinions, fumed following his side’s damaging defeat to Middlesbrough and even called for manager Mauricio Pochettino to be sacked.
Speaking on his YouTube channel following the game, Jennings said: “That was totally and utterly unacceptable”.
“It is an embarrassment to the fans who have travelled up there, committed their time and money to follow Chelsea across the country in freezing January. It’s an embarrassment to the badge on the shirt, it’s an embarrassment to the history of the club, it is an embarrassment to the disgustingly generous wages that they earn.”
“Everybody should be hanging their heads in shame.”

On Pochettino, Jennings said: “Pochettino should not be in a job. This Chelsea side are woeful and it’s woeful on his watch. We haven’t improved from the team that we were under Graham Potter. We haven’t improved from the team that we were under Frank Lampard.”
“I genuinely believe that we were a better team under Graham Potter. What has Pochettino done? How does he deserve this job? He’s such an average manager.”
“He is a woeful manager and I do not want him at Chelsea. The sooner we get rid of Mauricio Pochetino, the better.”
Chelsea and Pochettino will be hoping to turn the tide when they face Middlesbrough in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final at Stamford Bridge on January 23. While the next match for the Blues is a home Premier League clash with neighbours Fulham on Saturday lunchtime.
