Manchester United have now suffered 35 home defeats since Sir Alex Ferguson left the club 10 years ago, which is more than the Red Devils managed in the Scots 21-year tenure.

The Red Devils suffered a humiliating defeat in their most recent Premier League fixture, losing 3-0 to Bournemouth at Old Trafford.

Erik ten Hag has come under huge scrutiny this season, following a run of poor results in England’s top-flight, while also sitting bottom of their Champions League group.

The defeat to Bournemouth sealed an unfortunate record for Manchester United, as they have now lost 35 home matches since Sir Alex Ferguson retired – which is more than the Scottish manager suffered during his whole career (34).

Since Sir Alex left the club, Manchester United have been managed by a host of different coaches – with David Moyes, Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer and Erik ten Hag all taking permanent roles.

Michael Carrick, Ryan Giggs and Ralf Rangnick also had brief stints as interim managers, and between these individuals the Red Devils have suffered 35 defeats at home.

David Moyes was sacked in his first season at the club, after United dropped to seventh under his control – just a year after winning the league.

Louis van Gaal then took over and during his time in Manchester, the Red Devils won the FA Cup but the style of play was deemed underwhelming.

Jose Mourinho was brought in to help bring the glory days back to Old Trafford and in his opening season Man United won the Europa League, League Cup and Community Shield.

However, in his second season the Portuguese manager struggled and he parted ways with the club, as Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer was appointed.

The Norwegian came in on an interim basis but after an impressive spell, United made the deal permanent. Unfortunately, he failed to win a trophy during his time as United boss and was sacked in November 2021.

Ralf Rangnick was brought in to see out the remainder of the 2021-22 season, before leaving the club and Erik ten Hag was brought in for the 2022-23 season.

The Dutchman won the Carabao Cup in his opening season with the club and many thought United were back to their old ways – finishing third in the Premier League.

However, the club have dwindled this season, losing seven Premier League matches and bottom of their Champions League group.
