The Tingle Creek Chase is a big Sandown Park horse race that is run every season in early December. Over the years it’s been won by many great 2m chasers, including Desert Orchid and Kauto Star. But there is also a trainer that won the Tingle Creek Chase back-to-back between 2005 and 2010 – recording a famous six-year domination in the Sandown race.
Which Trainer Won The Tingle Creek Chase Back-to-Back From 2005-2010?
Step forward PAUL NICHOLLS.
Yes, the 14-time Champion jumps trainer Paul Nicholls managed to remarkably win the Tingle Creek Chase back-to-back between 2005 and 2010, which saw no other yard get a look-in at Sandown Park during this six-year period.
This run of six Tingle Creek back-to-back wins started with the classy Kauto Star in 2005 (watch below) and he went into win the following year too.
Nicholls then added four more Tingle Creek Chase wins with only two more horses as Twist Magic won in 2007 and 2009, then Master Minded, who was also owned by Kauto Star’s Clive Smith, won in 2008 and 2010.
Meaning during this Tingle Creek purple patch, Paul Nicholls won the big Sandown Grade One Chase a remarkable six times with just three different horses.

Paul Nicholls Is The Winning-Most Tingle Creek Chase Trainer
This impressive Tingle Creek back-to-back winning streak by Paul Nicholls wasn’t the first success in the race for the Ditcheat hander either.
Nicholls recorded his first Tingle Creek win in 1999 with a horse called Flagship Uberalles, who went onto win the next three renewals of the Sandown Park race – but with different trainers (Noel Chance and Philip Hobbs).
Cenkos was also a winner in 2002 for Paul Nicholls, while in more recent times Dodging Bullets, Politologue (twice) and Greaneteen were other victors in the race for the yard (watch below).
Of these Paul Nicholls Tingle Creek winners, Dodging Bullets (2014/15) and Master Minded (2008/09) also went onto win the Queen Mother Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival that same season.
While Kauto Star went onto win the Cheltenham Gold Cup in his 2006/07 season after winning the Sandown race.
