Arsenal vs Wolves Report: Gunners Go Four Points Clear At Top
Mikel Arteta‘s side moved four points clear at the top of the Premier League table with a hard-fought win over Wolves at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon.
The Gunners headed into the game in fine form having recorded a thumping 6-0 win over Lens in the Champions League on Wednesday night, securing their last-16 qualification.
Brimming with confidence, Arsenal took an early lead through Buakyo Saka. The England international netted his eighth goal of the season as he got the better of Craig Dawson in the box before firing low into the bottom corner.
And then Martin Odegaard made it 2-0 shortly after, finishing off a fantastic team move to put the side in control of the contest. Oleksandr Zinchenko combined well with Gabriel Jesus before cutting it back to Odegaard who finished well first-time. The Norwegian’s effort left Jose Sa with no chance, and the Wolves goalkeeper also got injured in the process.
The Gunners controlled the game throughout and could have easily scored more, but the post denied the in-form Gabriel Martinelli at the end of another spectacular counter-attacking move.
However, the North London side could not find a third goal and Wolves halved the deficit late on through a brilliant Matheus Cunha strike.

Arsenal have now won five games on the bounce in all competitions and have a respectable four point lead at the top of the table ahead of Manchester City‘s clash with Tottenham on Sunday afternoon.
As for Wolves, they now remain without a win in their last 13 trips to London (D3 L10) and their last three points in the capital was a 2-0 win over Spurs in February 2022, losing all of their last four.
