PSG vs Newcastle United Prediction
In one of the most highly anticipated showdowns on Matchday 5 of the Champions League, Newcastle United travel to the French capital to face Ligue 1 giants PSG at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday night.
The reverse fixture saw the Magpies come away with a historic 4-1 win at home, with Miguel Almiron, Dan Burn, Sean Longstaff and Fabian Schar on the scoresheet. It’ll be a different challenge on the road and Kylian Mbappe will be determined to spoil the travelling party.
Newcastle opened the festive period with a triumphant 4-1 win against Chelsea on Saturday in the Premier League, putting an end to a two-game losing streak prior to the international break.
PSG have won two straight since being beaten 2-1 away at AC Milan earlier this month, recording 3-0 and 5-2 wins over Reims and Monaco respectively. They’re very strong at home in this competition and should prove hard to beat.
We at SportsLens expect this one to be a close encounter but the hosts should have the edge in Paris.
Prediction: PSG 2-0 Newcastle United

PSG vs Newcastle United Betting Tip 1: PSG To Win @ 8/13
PSG were blown away by Newcastle on Tyneside last month but can put things right at home in a decisive Group F clash on Tuesday night in Paris, the penultimate game as the knockout stages steadily approach.
The Parisiens will feel they have to win this one at home where they’ve enjoyed success so far this campaign. They beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0 and AC Milan 3-0 in their recent outings at the Parc Des Princes.
The odds are stacked against Dortmund at the San Siro in their clash, so if they fail to win and PSG earn three points vs Newcastle – Luis Enrique’s side will enter Matchday 6 as the group leaders and in pole position to qualify.
Harvey Barnes, Jacob Murphy, Sven Botman, Matt Targett, Callum Wilson, Dan Burn, Sean Longstaff, Joe Willock and the suspended Sandro Tonali are all expected to miss the trip to France for Newcastle.
This is why we at SportsLens are backing PSG to reign victorious over Newcastle, priced at 8/13 by the majority of top UK bookmakers.
PSG vs Newcastle United Betting Tip 2: Kylian Mbappe First Goalscorer @ 11/4
Kylian Mbappe is without question the best footballer on the planet in 2023 and one of the few accomplishments he’s missing from his resume at the young age of 24 is a Champions League winner’s medal.
The best players come alive when it really matters in this competition and there’s few hungrier than Mbappe when it comes to winning a European title. He’s scored twice already this campaign, bagging the first goal vs both Milan and Dortmund.
At a price of 11/4, he is poised to make it three opening goals vs Newcastle this Tuesday. You can combine this selection with PSG to win and get a multiple with odds of 7/2.
