Andrew found a fantastic four winners (11-2, 16-5, 3-1 & 13-8) from four picks on Friday and has five more on Saturday, November 25th. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:
HUNTINGDON 12.28
TELLHERTHENAME (system – owned by The Megsons)
Since the beginning of 2018, horses owned by The Megsons (outright or in partnership with others) have won 46 of their 280 starts (16.4% strike-rate) for a profit of £101.79 to a £1 level stake at SP. TELLHERTHENAME, who cost £200,000 at last season’s Cheltenham Festival sale after landing his sole point-to-point start, was only beaten by a nose into second place at Ascot on his debut and can go one better.
ASCOT 1.30
SHISHKIN (system – Nicky Henderson, first-time cheekpieces)
Nicky Henderson doesn’t often reach for the first-time cheekpieces but has won with 18 of the 81 qualifiers since the beginning of 2017 against an expected figure of 11.2 (A/E= 1.61). We’d have made a loss of £7.49 by backing them blind at SP but the favourites won nine of their 14 starts (+£13.41), with the six who started at 2-1 or shorter all scoring (2-1, 2-1, 15-8. 11-8, evens and 5-6). At the time of writing, SHISHKIN was trading as the 4-6 favourite for this Grade 2 contest and is likely to prove hard to beat.
HUNTINGDON 2.13
Nigel Twiston-Davies has a good record in the early months of the peak jumps season when using a jockey who can claim an allowance, with the hurdlers/chasers landing 81 of their 425 starts in the past ten years for a profit of £19.42 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 61.93, A/E = 1.31). In handicaps only, the score is 60 from 316 for a profit of £31.84. SHETLAND TONY jumped slightly out to his right when landing a Stratford novices’ hurdle on last month’s stable debut and, though only mid-division in an 18-runner handicap hurdle at Cheltenham next time, the switch to a right-handed track will help and he’s worth a bet under in-form conditional jockey Finn Lambert.
HUNTINGDON 2.45
MACLAINE (system – Richard J Bandey, chase debut)
Chase debutants trained by Richard Bandey have a seven from 18 record for a profit of £99.25 to a £1 level stake at SP, with four of the beaten horses running second (8-1, 5-2, 9-2 and 100-30). MACLAINE, ex-Oliver Sherwood, won over hurdles on his reappearance last term and looks very interesting on his stable, chase and seasonal debut.
HAYDOCK 3.35
CREDO (system – Fame And Glory, 8yo+)
Jumps progeny of the sire Fame And Glory seem to be getting better with time and backing the eight and nine-year-olds (the sire’s oldest crop) blind would have found 58 winners from 442 bets (13.1%) for a profit of £99.88 to the usual £1 stake. This angle has found three winners already this week (14-1, 5-1 and 3-1) and CREDO might be able to follow up last month’s Wincanton success.
