Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Aaron Ramsdale will start his first Premier League game since September against Brentford on Saturday, with David Raya ineligible to play against his parent club.
Aaron Ramsdale To Start For Arsenal Against Brentford
David Raya has started every Premier League and Champions League game so far for the Gunners since the September international break, with Ramsdale losing his number one spot in the meantime.
However, with the Spaniard being on loan from Brentford he is unable to play against his parent club this weekend, due to Premier League rules.

Arteta was quizzed on Ramsdale’s participation in Saturday’s game, and was asked if there was any expectation on the England international, to which he responded: “My job is to try and help people in the very best possible way every day to make him better and give them the best possible chance to fulfil the potential in their career and get to the highest possible position
“There is no expectation with any player.”
Both of those games he has featured in came in the Carabao Cup. He impressed in the first, when the Gunners won 1-0 away from home against this weekend’s opponents, and the second was a 3-1 defeat to West Ham United, giving Arteta’s side an early exit from the competition.
Ramsdale will undoubtedly be frustrated with his lack of playing time, and with the Euros coming up next summer it could damage his chances of participating.
Plus, with Arsenal set to trigger the option-to-buy clause in Raya’s clause, it could be the final nail in coffin of the 25-year-old’s carer at the Emirates next summer.
