Burnley boss Vincent Kompany remains hopeful of staving off relegation despite the fact his team currently sits rock bottom of the Premier League table.
Throughout the campaign, the Terriers have struggled to find the net and as a result have only won one game in twelve.
Despite this, ex-Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany believes that his squad has enough quality to escape the relegation zone before the end of the season.
What Did Burnley’s Vincent Kompany Say About Avoiding Relegation?
Speaking during his pre-match press conference before his side’s game against West Ham Kompany said: “I hope that being desperate to win is something you always have. I don’t feel you can ever go into a game not being fully committed to winning. I’d like to think that is something that really lives in this club.
“The league has been tough for us. It’s just not been easy, whether we’ve played well or had games against teams that are stronger than us. It’s always been a case of adapting to this level.
“I’ve seen signs in the team where I’d like to think the team is really looking forward to games ahead.”

Asked whether he believes he can turn things around at Burnley, Kompany responded: “Yes, more than ever. That’s also in my nature. When nobody believes anymore, I’ll be still the last man believing until the end. It lives in the team, it lives in the squad.
“I don’t think we have to ever doubt we can put a run of results together. It’s been details that have cost us, individual details sometimes as well. But I see solutions.
“That’s my job as a manager to try and offer solutions to the team and help them.”
Burnley now have two home games in a row, which the Belgian will be hoping can ignite his team’s turnaround. Although the Terriers are currently one of the favourites for the drop with odds of 13/8.
