Maike Magnussen sent three horses to Limerick today (Tues 21st November 2023) and all of them were heavily backed overnight and through the morning which led to some bookmakers not taking bets on multiples including the three. The first two went on to be well beaten (Twoconduit & Lyla Garrity), before the final one (Celine Man) was pulled out before the race got underway.
Maike Magnussen Horses Heavily Backed At Limerick
The County Tipperary handler is well known for her Irish Point to Point record in recent times and appears to do well between the flags, but is yet to train a winner under rules.
She sent three horses to Limerick on Tuesday; Twoconduit (12:25), Lyla Garrity (14:45) and Celine Man (15:20). Two out of the three made their stable debuts, and are all owned by James O’Regan.
Twoconduit ran at 12:25 in the opening contest at the dual-purpose racecourse, and despite being backed in the betting from 12/1 to 5/2 favourite, he finished seventh of 14 runners without really ever getting close. This horse had won a P2P in Ireland before being disqualified following a positive test. He was also due to run at Sligo on October 27th (heavily backed that day too) but was pulled out due to the ground not being in his favour.
Lyla Garrity ran at 14:45 and was an even bigger price at 16/1 and got backed into second favourite (3/1) before drifting back out before the off. The former Mark Fahey-trained mare made her stable debut at Sligo (same meeting as Twoconduit) last time out and was beaten 4 lengths. She was well beaten this time around too, finishing seventh of 14.
The last of the Maike Magnussen horses at Limerick is Celine Man, who has also had plenty of money put down. Non runner at Sligo just over a month ago like Twoconduit and was pulled out due to the going once again. After being backed all the way into 11/4 on Tuesday, Celine Man was pulled out just before the off due to the going – the plot thickens.
Similar Situation To Sligo Last Month For Maike Magnussen Horses
It’s interesting to note that all three of these horses saw their prices go in dramatically at Sligo too, and the bookies today in this instance have decided to stop taking the multiples including the Magnussen-trained competitors.
🚨Gamble Watch🚨
All eyes on Sligo today, with early money for 4 Maike Magnussen trained runners.
3 of those runners are having their first start for Maike today, having ran exactly 224 days ago for 2 different trainers at 3 different tracks 👀

There may not be anything suspect about the activities and the owner may well have just fancied his horses. However, when anything like this happens plenty of horse racing fans on social media jump to the conclusion that something dodgy is going on. Keep an eye out for more updates on the Maike Magnussen horses at Limerick, with only two running in the end as the final one (Celine Man) got pulled out.
