Mister Coffey will be popular but is also yet to win over fences from nine. So the Sam Thomas runner is prefered having won well at Carlisle the last day – beating another runner here, Alaphilippe by 16 lengths. A repeat of that will see him be hard to beat, according to Walsh.
- 2:20 – Paddy Power Gold Cup Handicap Chase (Premier Handicap) (Gbb Race) Cl1 (4yo+) 2m4f ITV: THE REAL WHACKER 11/2 with Paddy Power
Two Festival winners from last season – Stage Star and The Real Whacker are favoured by Walsh, but despite his big weight the last-named gets the call. Solid jumper that could get into a nice rhythm up top and be hard to topple as also know he stays further.
- 2:55 – Paddy Power Games Handicap Hurdle (Gbb Race) Cl2 (4yo+) 3m ITV: BUDDY ONE 6/1 with Paddy Power
Chantry House is feared over the trip, for Ruby, but is sticking with the Paul John Gilligan runner Buddy One. This 6 year-old is up in the weights after winning at Galway last time out off 138 – up 9lbs – but is still young and the former champion jockey feels there is a lot more to come.
- 3:30 – Paddy Power Feel Like A Favourite Intermediate Handicap Hurdle Cl3 (3yo+ 0-140) 2m5f ITV: LONDONOFFICECALLIN 11/2 with Paddy Power
Ruby fancies this Irish runner over the likely favorites Springwell Bay and Resplendent Grey here. A fair flat performer during the summer months and Walsh feels after wins at Punchestown and Down Royal is making into a nice hurdler and could be well-in still off a mark of 111.
