Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane scored a brace on the weekend to make it 17 Bundesliga goals in just 11 appearances – already surpassing last season’s joint top scorers Christopher Nkunku and Niclas Fullkrug, who both netted 16 throughout the entire 2022/23 campaign.
The summer signing from Tottenham has been in tremendous form since joining the German champions and is on track to break Robert Lewandowski’s record of 41 goals in a single season.
Harry Kane’s Electric Start At Bayern Munich
Harry Kane has wasted no time at all in finding the back of the net since joining Bayern Munich for £100m in the summer. Kane has already netted three Bundesliga hat-tricks and has notched two braces, also becoming the fastest player to score 17 goals in 11 appearances, beating Robert Lewandowski’s 16 goals in 11 appearances set in 2019.
Kane has also helped himself to four goals in four UEFA Champions League appearances this season with Bayern securing their place in the knockout stages after picking up maximum points in group A. In total, the England captain has 21 goals in all competitions and seven assists from 16 appearances, meaning he is netting a goal on average every 64 minutes.

Harry Kane Top Scorer In Europe’s Top Five Leagues
Unsurprisingly, nobody else has scored more goals across Europe’s top five leagues than Harry Kane. Manchester City striker Erling Haaland leads the way in the Premier League on 13 goals, the same total as PSG and Ligue 1’s top scorer Kylian Mbappe.
Inter’s Lautaro Martínez is the top scorer in Serie A on 12 goals, whilst Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham has the most goals in La Liga so far in 2023/23 (10). Many would have predicted Kane to be a big hit in Germany, but his tally so far is hugely impressive and will have surprised a few, perhaps even himself.
Harry Kane Closing In On Robert Lewandowski’s Record
The most goals ever scored in a single Bundesliga season currently stands on 41, netted by former Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski in the 2020/21 campaign. That year, the Polish striker had netted 15 times in his first 11 appearances, two shy of Kane’s total for this season.
At his current rate, Kane will have netted 34 times after 22 games which gives him an extra 12 Bundesliga fixtures to score the eight goals required to break Lewandowski’s record. It would take a very brave person to back against Kane achieving his feat if he is in that position after match week 22.
