Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has given an update on Jadon Sancho’s situation at Manchester United, since the former Manchester City youngster’s exile by Erik ten Hag.
What Happened With Jadon Sancho At Manchester United?
Sancho was dropped from the Manchester United squad for the 3-1 loss to Arsenal on September 3, with Erik ten Hag publicly criticising Sancho for his standards in training.
The 23-year-old, who has struggled since signing for Manchester United in 2021 for £73m, responded: “Please don’t believe everything you read! I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue, I have conducted myself in training very well this week.
“I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into, I’ve been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair!”
As a result, Sancho last played for Manchester United on August 26 in the Red Devils dramatic 3-2 home victory against Nottingham Forest.

What Did Fabrizio Romano Say About Sancho’s Situation?
Writing via Caught Offside, Romano said: “That’s not the case with Jadon Sancho, however, who I would say is looking 99% likely to leave United this January.”
Commenting on Sancho’s recent links with former club Borussia Dortmund, Romano said: “Still, it will depend on many factors, despite links with Borussia Dortmund, because I think clubs will wait before deciding what to do during the January window – Dortmund, for example, will have to see where they are in the Champions League, or if they drop to the Europa League, or even out of Europe altogether.
“This is the case for a lot of clubs, so that’s why there are no talks now, but for Sancho the situation at Manchester United is complicated, for sure.”
Romano went on to explain Sancho’s only route back into the first team picture, saying: “The only way this could change is if Sancho decides to apologise in a very special way to Erik ten Hag and his coaching staff, but it’s almost two months now and nothing has changed, so the feeling of those close to the player is that he will leave Old Trafford in January.”
Recently, Sancho has been tipped to outlast under-fire coach ten Hag, but what do you think is next for the winger?
