Since the beginning of 2020 backing all runners trained by Ann Hamilton would have found 35 winners from 128 bets (27.3%) for a profit of £31.92 to a £1 level stake at SP, with those who won last time out landing 16 of their 33 starts for a profit of £35.67. DARE TO SHOUT returned from wind surgery to score on his reappearance at Hexham earlier this month and can defy a 4lb rise in the handicap.

DESPERATE HERO (system – Channon yard, autumn handicaps angle)
Since 2007, Mick (and now Jack) Channon are 67 from 445 (15.1% strike-rate) in Flat turf handicaps (Class 5 or above) on good to soft or softer going in the autumn (September to November) for a profit of £75.85 to a £1 level stake at SP. Only backing those who raced within the past six weeks improves the strike-rate and profit (16.4%, +£111.86). DESPERATE HERO has been in great form in the mud of late and can make it three wins from his last four starts in this 5f handicap.
CHELTENHAM 3.35
LISNAMULT LAD (system – John McConnell, Cheltenham runners, non-festival)
John McConnell does well with his non-festival Cheltenham runners, scoring with nine of the 30 runners for a profit of £37.88 to a £1 level stake at SP. If we include his point-to-point win, LISNAMULT LAD has form figures over trips beyond 2m1f of 11311 (4-5) and should go well once more.
CHELMSFORD 6.30
CARIAD (system – Cityscape, Chelmsford handicaps, 7f-1m)
Three of the eight runners in this 1m handicap like to race on the front end and it could be set up for a closer. Step forward CARIAD, who caught the eye over 7f here 16 days ago, doing best of those to come from midfield or further back in a close-up fifth of 11. George Scott’s filly is a three-time all-weather winner over 1m-1m1f and progeny of her sire, Cityscape, are six from 28 in 7f-1m handicaps at Chelmsford for a profit of £84.75 to a £1 level stake at SP. Those who had the benefit of a recent outing (within three weeks) recorded form figures of 111189554152 (5-12) for a profit of £94.75.
