Wolves vs Newcastle Preview
Looking to bounce back from their first Champions League defeat of the season, Newcastle face Wolves in the Premier League’s late kick-off on Saturday.
Molineux has proved to be a tricky place for sides to come at times this season, and Gary O’Neil’s side have picked up some good results including a huge 2-1 win over Manchester City earlier this month.
Both sides won last time out in the league with Wolves winning away against O’Neil’s former club Bournemouth, meanwhile the Magpies hammered Crystal Palace 4-0. However, Eddie Howe’s side could not back that win up in midweek after narrowly losing 1-0 to Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund.
We should be in for an entertaining affair between two sides who know how to find the back of the net, and it could go either way.
That being said, Wolves could not beat Newcastle last season with one loss and one draw, but the Magpies also haven’t won at Molineux since 2017.
Wolves vs Newcastle Team News
Wolves Team News
Mario Lemina and Nelson Semedo are expected to return for Wolves this time around after they missed the win over Bournemouth due to suspension.
The good news is, O’Neil only has a couple of injuries to worry about with Hugo Bueno and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde the only absentees.
Wolves Predicted Line-Up
Sa; Kilman, Dawson, Toti; Semedo, Traore, Lemina, Ait-Nouri; Neto, Cunha, Hwang
Newcastle Team News
The Magpies have had their fair share of injury problems so far this season and things only got worse during the defeat to Dortmund on Wednesday.
Alexander Isak was subbed off after 15 minutes with a groin issue, meanwhile Jacob Murphy also had to be taken off with a suspected dislocated shoulder just five minutes after coming on.
Both Isak and Murphy are major doubts for this one and are likely to join Harvey Barnes and Sven Botman in the medical room.
Newcastle Predicted Line-Up
Pope; Trippier, Schar, Lascelles, Burn; Joelinton, Guimaraes, Longstaff; Almiron, Wilson, Gordon
