LINGFIELD 3.05
STAR OF LADY M (system – David O’Meara, first-time visor, all-weather)
David O’Meara has a solid recent record when fitting one of his all-weather runners with a visor for the first time, scoring with is six of the 27 qualifiers since 2019 for a profit of £19.50 to a £1 level stake at SP, with the only qualifier to run at Lingfield recording a 6-1 success. STAR OF LADY M, poorly drawn when fifth at Musselburgh last time, can regain the winning thread in the first-time headgear.
LINGFIELD 3.40
FLASHY APACHE (system – Toronado 2yos, all-weather, not debut)
Aside from racecourse debutants, juvenile progeny of the sire Toronado have a 20 from 92 record on the all-weather for a profit of £45.83 to a £1 level stake at SP. Richard Hannon’s FLASHY APACHE finished last of five at Chelmsford on his debut 12 days ago but did start as the 18-1 outsider of five and didn’t look devoid of ability. He’s worth a speculative punt at a juicy price (20-1 at the time of writing).
LUDLOW 4.40
MALAITA (system – Malinas, young handicappers, jumps)
Younger (aged seven or less) progeny of the sire Malinas have a good record in jumps handicaps, landing 121 of their 660 starts (18.3%) for a profit of £72.37 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 98.53, A/E = 1.23). MALAITA, who won a bumper here in May 2021, added handicap hurdle wins at Carlisle and Cheltenham last term and can be backed to make a winning chase debut.
