Manchester United are reportedly eyeing a move for talented Benfica youngster Joao Neves as a long-term replacement for Casemiro, who has endured a tough start to the season.
United Targeting Joao Neves As Casemiro Replacement
After impressing in his first season at Old Trafford, Casemiro has struggled so far this campaign and is currently out injured with an ankle problem sustained on international duty with Brazil.
The 31-year-old is expected to return to Carrington this week after remaining in his home country for treatment.
According to reports in Spain, Casemiro is homesick and this has contributed to his poor start to the season and with the former Real Madrid man turning 32 in February, Erik ten Hag is already planning for a future without him.

The Red Devils have been interested in the 19-year-old midfielder for the past few months and are prepared to pay at least £70million to bring him to Old Trafford.
Neves made 17 appearances for Benfica last season when they stormed to a title win in Liga Nos for the first time since 2018-19. He has featured eight times so far this campaign and has become a key player for the Eagles.
His good performances over the past year since his breakthrough have earned him his first ever international call-up and he made his debut for Portugal last week in a 5-0 win over Bosnia.
He could be the latest Benfica starlet to make a big money move after Darwin Nunez, Goncalo Ramos and Enzo Fernandez all moved on to join Liverpool, PSG and Chelsea in the past year.
