Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has praised Harry Maguire after his performance in the 2-1 win over Sheffield United on Saturday night saying he’s “playing like we want him to”.

Maguire started his second Premier League game in a row on Saturday evening and put in a fantastic performance to help his side pick up all three points.
United found themselves 1-0 up thanks to a goal from the in-form Scott McTominay before Oli McBurnie levelled from the spot just six minutes later. Ten Hag’s side eventually found a winner through a superb Diogo Dalot strike, adding to the Blades’ misery, who still remain without a win in the league this season.
Maguire played very well and was named Player of the Match.

The England defender’s career at Old Trafford appeared to be over after he was stripped of his captaincy earlier on this year, but looks to be getting back on track now despite almost leaving in the summer.
West Ham United were heavily linked to signing him but the move fell through and he remained at the Red Devils.
Maguire Praised By Ten Hag
Ten Hag was speaking on the 30-year-old’s performance at full-time: “I am happy with his performance,” said the Dutchman.
“I have to say Harry is playing like we want him to play. Very proactive out of possession, dominating his opponent, stepping in when necessary, reading the game, good covering but also in possession vert proactive, stepping in, delivering good passes and switching.”
The Red Devils’ win moved them up to eighth in the league, just one point off the top six. Ten Hag’s side will now prepare for Tuesday night’s Champions League fixture against Copenhagen before a huge derby next Sunday when they host noisy neighbours Manchester City.
