The FIFA Club World Cup dates have been announced for December as Manchester City enter the tournament for the first time after their Champions League and Super Cup triumphs.
The 2023 tournament will start on Tuesday, December 12 and end on Friday, December 22. This years competition will be hosted in Saudi Arabia. Man City automatically go through to the semi-finals given their Champions League and Super Cup win. The Semi-final will take place on Tuesday, December 19 at the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium.
This will be the last seven-team Club World Cup before the tournament is expanded to 32 teams in 2025. Only three Premier League sides have lifted the trophy in the tournaments 20-year run. They are Man United (2008), Liverpool (2019), and Chelsea (2021). Real Madrid are the current holders.
The Saudi Pro League champions Al Ittihad are also taking part in the competition. They now have Karim Benzema leading the line as well as N’golo Kante in midfield.
