The Birmingham City next manager odds are suggesting that former Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney, will be heading to St. Andrew’s this week.

Birmingham City Next Manager Odds: Is Rooney a Done Deal?

Birmingham City sacked their coach John Eustace earlier this week, which has left a vacancy at St. Andrew’s that many feel will be filled by former Derby County and DC United boss WAYNE ROONEY.

Rooney also departed his most recent club – DC United – this month (mutually agreed) after the MLS side failed to make the play-offs, which further fuels the speculation the Manchester United legend has his sights set on another stint in the Championship.

It’s reported that Wayne Rooney has flown to the UK on Tuesday for more formal talks with the new Birmingham American owners, that also now include former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

The EFL side issued a statement after John Eustace departed on Monday saying “The new manager will be responsible for creating an identity and clear ‘no fear’ playing style.”

Rooney Could Earn Three Times More Than Former City Boss

It’s also rumoured that, if Rooney does take the Birmingham City job, he’ll be pocketing three times the salary than his predecessor John Eustace.

This latest Rooney news has also prompted the best UK football betting sites to take down their ‘Next Birmingham Manager Odds’ betting markets.

Which is – despite no official announcement expected until later this week – further evidence that it’s Rooney’s job if he wants it.

Promotion to the Premier League will, of course, be high up the agenda for Birmingham City.

The Midlands side have spent seven seasons in the Premier League since it was formed in 1992, with the most recent of those in the 2010/11 season when they finished 18th and were relegated to the Championship where they’ve been since for the past 12 campaigns.
