Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing Bayern Munich defender, Alphonso Davies, but will face stiff competition from Real Madrid.

The Cityzens are set to enter the race for Alphonso Davies’ services, with Pep Guardiola looking to fill the void left by Joao Cancelo’s loan move to Barcelona.

Premier League life has started swimmingly for the blue side of Manchester, winning six from their opening seven league matches.

However, the treble winning side lost their last league encounter – as relegation contenders Wolves pulled off a huge 2-1 upset at Molineux.

Manchester City’s interest in Alphonso Davies will not go unchallenged, with La Liga giants, Real Madrid, also keen on signing the Canadian in 2024.

The Spanish side have also started the season strongly, sitting top of the table after nine games and have proved how important huge summer signings can be – with Jude Bellingham in scintillating form.

The Canadian defender has made 127 appearances for the Bavarians, contributing to 23 goals from left-back (6 goals and 17 assists).

During this time he has picked up, five Bundesliga titles, a Champions League, two German Cups, a Club World Cup and three German Super Cups.

The 22-year-old has two years remaining on his current deal and has shown no desire to leave the Allianz arena, which could make any deal cost up to £70m.

Davies is a consistent member in the Bayern Munich starting eleven and with a lack of available left-backs on the market, it would take a sensational offer to pry him from their clutches.

Especially as Thomas Tuchel’s side lost Lucas Hernandez to PSG in the previous summer window, meaning their shortlist of starting full-backs has shortened.
