Everton vs Luton Preview

Just three points separate Everton and Luton ahead of their clash at Goodison this weekend, in a period following a turn of form for the hosts.

The Toffees had won just one match prior to last weekend, and that came against Doncaster in the Carabao Cup, but they’ve now secured their first league victory with a 3-1 win over Brentford, followed by a 2-1 win over Aston Villa in the aforementioned cup’s third round on Wednesday evening.

Their result against the Bees has seen them jump up to 15th in the Premier League table, three points clear of the drop as Saturday’s counterparts languish in the bottom three in 18th place.

Luton are still yet to record a victory since their long-awaited return to the English top flight, but managed to grab a point at home against Wolves last weekend to get themselves on the board.

That point was followed by a bitterly disappointing exit from the Carabao Cup for the Hatters, as they were edged out 1-0 by League One outfit Exeter City on Tuesday night.
