Nottingham Forest failed to make home advantage count as they drew 1-1 with Burnley at the City Ground. Nottingham Forest relegation odds now at 6/1.
Forest and Burnley locked horns at the City Ground in what many saw as an early potential relegation battle. You couldn’t tell the two teams were expected to struggle this season with both having lots of chances and playing good football.
19-year-old Luca Koleosho was the star man in the first half. The winger caused World Cup winning Gonzalo Montiel endless problems on the left side. Montiel’s task was made even more difficult when he received a yellow card in the first half.
Koleosho played a crucial part in the games opening goal. He was found running through on goal, he pulled the ball back to Lyle Foster who got a touch, but it fell to Zeki Amdouni who calmly volleyed home.

With the game coming to a close, the drama wasn’t done there. Burnley striker Foster was involved in two controversial moments.
First, Sander Berge went through after outmuscling Scott McKenna, Berge found Foster who slotted the ball into the empty net. With Burnley fans ecstatic they’d won the game, VAR advised the referee to go to the screen to check what they deemed to be a deliberate handball by Berge. Decision, no goal.
Shortly after, Foster was sent off after VAR sent the ref to the screen again to check for violent conduct. It was deemed Foster had elbowed his opponent.
Forest looked to get a last minute winner, but the game finished a draw.
