Nottingham Forest vs Burnley Preview
One of two teams yet to pick up a point in the Premier League this term, Burnley head to Nottingham Forest on Monday evening on their return from the international window.
Vincent Kompany’s side have suffered three successive defeats in the league, but narrowly beat Forest 1-0 in the EFL Cup second round just over two weeks ago.
The Reds are currently sitting nicely in the top half of the table having won two matches, and lost two matches, with Nigerian forward Taiwo Awoniyi starring with three goals from the four matches.
Their final match before the internationals saw them record an impressive 1-0 win over Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea at Stamford Bridge thanks to a second-half goal from summer signing Anthony Elanga.
One downside for Steve Cooper’s side though, is the departure of academy product Brennan Johnson. The Wales international completed his emotional exit from the City Ground on deadline day, joining Tottenham Hotspur for a reported £47.5million.
