Laytown Races 2023 – What Is It And Where Is It Held?
Laytown Races is an annual tradition and unique once-a-year event on the Irish flat racing calendar as it is the sole horse racing fixture that is staged on a beach under rules in Ireland or Britain. The event is located in Laytown, County Meath, Ireland.
The fixture takes place on one day every year in September and has been going on since 1868, so this is the 158th staging of the famous event. Six races take place on the day over either 6 or 7f on a straight and mostly level track
Top Irish jump jockeys Rachael Blackmore, Paul Townend and Danny Mullins will be among those in action on the beach today at the event were many riders take the opportunity to race every year.
