SportsLens Head of News Lee Astley said: “Tottenham’s summer signing James Maddison leads the pricing at 5/2 alongside Brighton’s ever-reliable Kaoru Mitoma with both having scored once, and assisted twice for their sides. Similarly, the pair have been instrumental in their teams’ success, and have taken on the creative roles within their respective lineups, with both sitting top of the Premier League assist charts at the end of August.
“Bryan Mbeumo follows the market favourites at 7/2, having scored three times for Brentford in August, before adding a fourth at the start of September. There were question marks over where the Bees would get their goals from following the suspension of Ivan Toney, but Mbeumo has really stepped up to the mark, and is a serious contender for the Player of the Month award.
“Taiwo Awoniyi and Jarrod Bowen hold similar prices in the market at 5/1 and 6/1 respectively, but it’s Manchester City’s Rodri who is priced as the longshot at 25/1. Following on from his Champions League-winning goal in June, the Spaniard has shown no signs of stopping – scoring and assisting in the opener against Burnley, before striking a late winner at Bramall Lane towards the end of the month in an unbeaten start under Pep Guardiola. Despite an impressive month though, his performances have been somewhat overshadowed by those of Erling Haaland’s, who already has six league goals to his name.”
