Everton boss Sean Dyche has always been a firm manager but maybe his toughness is a little too much for Demarai Gray as it’s being reported that there has been a falling out.
Gray took to social media to voice his frustration on Dyche leaving him out of the squad. The post on his Instagram account read: “Everton fans have always been great with me but it is so difficult to play for someone who don’t show you respect as a person.”
Dyche has said that his reasoning for not playing the winger is because he isn’t 100% fit. Gray did not feature in pre-season and perhaps is nursing a little knock but Gray is clearing voicing that Dyche doesn’t ‘respect’ him.
Gray scored 6 goals last season for Everton and would definitely be a boost for him to be playing regular football again for Everton, who are struggling for goals.
Gray has been linked with a move away to Saudi Arabia but Everton are not likely to sell him as they already gave up Alex Iwobi to Fulham for £22m. The Saudi Arabia transfer window ends on Thursday.
Dyche wasn’t happy with that transfer as his squad depth is lacking as it is. Danjuma is now playing down the left-wing. Dwight Mcneil came on for a few minutes against Sheffield United in the last Premier League match. A welcome return for him after he was out with an ankle ligament injury,
With lack of squad depth, fans should expect to see Gray again at some point this season despite the differences that he and Dyche are going through.
