Wolves’ odds for Premier League relegation have shortened after suffering a third league defeat of the campaign, as Odsonne Edouard and Eberechi Eze combined to hand Crystal Palace a 3-2 victory at Selhurst Park.
Off the back of two successive victories in the Premier League and Carabao Cup, Wolves looked to extend that run at Selhurst Park on Sunday as they faced off against Crystal Palace – but it wasn’t to be.
A goalless first half saw Gary O’Neil’s side come out for the second period full of hope, but they were pegged back on the 56 minute mark when Odsonne Edouard fired home a volley from close-range thanks to an inch perfect Tyrick Mitchell cross.
Hwang Hee-chan levelled the scoring just nine minutes later by shouldering an effort past Sam Johnstone from a Pedro Neto free-kick, but they found themselves behind once again just 13 minutes later.
And it was Eberechi Eze who handed the Eagles the lead on the 78 minute mark with his first goal of the campaign, before Edouard grabbed his second of the match after 84 minutes to ensure a vital three points.

Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha pulled one back for the visitors late-on, but it was too little too late as Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace ran out as 3-2 winners in the English capital.
It’s a defeat that leaves Wolves lingering above the relegation zone in 15th, two points clear of 18th place Everton at this early stage of the campaign.
Up next they face a tough task in hosting an in-form Liverpool who come into the clash off the back of an impressive 3-0 victory over Aston Villa at Anfield.
